Solun is two lesser gods sol and lun after protecting his sister Maya many years ago from his brothers shadow. In the battle between Solun and his brother Galal Solun was badly injured and split in two causing him to decent onto the earth in two powerful but weaker mortal forms. Sol is the silver warrior which has many public worshippers and Lun or often called lucian is the silver trickster one representing that of monks and disciplined scholars while the other inventors, merchants, and those striving for their own desires.
Sol teachings are taming the flame of the soul while tempering the sharpness of the mind and body.
lun teachings are to bring forth inspiration, to seek more, to create, ect.
all are neutral gods also not evil or good although galal is both evil and good based on him and his shadow that follows him teaching that good and evil, life and death, one cannot exist without the other.
no the events are in ancient text but not general knowledge, so lun and sol are seen as individuals and not two halves. Both their worshipers have issues with one another as do the two halves but both share a common interest in Mayas safety who is still their sister. I plan for Lun to be the primary diety on the main starting city which I am using wildmounts dangerous designs to start the campaign in. Sol will be from a more asian themed empire and his temple will more or less represent a Buddhist monk temple with a large library where scholars study history and philosophy.
Lun is very nomadic, intervening often in mortal affairs', and taking on many forms while he favors one form that is a tall slender man with tan skin and dark slicked back red hair with golden eyes and a face to dye for. He uses mainly illusion and conjuration magic but knows plenty of other types such as abjuration and others.
Sols preferred form is that of fit tan man with bright runes drawn across his body radiating silver light and his eyes radiating silver light usually fighting with a staff enchanted with his own energy flowing through his body.
Both have similar hobbies such as studying, and helping those who wish to better themselves but in different ways. Where sol helps those who follow him to become disciplined in body, soul, and mind Lun grants odd gifts to those who show potential so that they can reach their desires themselves like if you desire riches he will grant you a blade and it's up to you to find out the reason which is that the blade cannot harm anything but dragons but is extremely fatal to dragons and there is a particular dragon with many riches and that has taken many lives that if you slay it will grant you it's treasure and favor from the people of the lands who were effected causing you to become a hero.
P.s. I should also mention that Galals shadow attempted to kill maya at one point which Solun protected their sister maya from galals shadow succeeding but becoming too injured forced to split himself in order to survive which created both Sol and Lun, this knowledge was lost with ancient empires where some texts may be left in ancient ruins. So Galal represents all that makes good and evil, bipolar with both sides always fighting, Soluns role was to be there to protect both Maya and galal form galals shadow, while maya was to nurture their creations. All beings were creating within their images combined, made physical by their own energy. Galals shadow seeks nothing but death and destruction of all things and to devour their creations to gain more power. This is why the Silver sun is no longer in the sky leaving only the golden sun and the moon to exist above the earth since Soluns two halves were made mortal but still maintain a little less than half of soluns full power each which solun was more powerful than both maya and Galal... but galals shadow is just as powerful.
This is a great writing project for you, it's captivating stuff and you clearly have a lot invested in it.
AS A DM, I wouldn't invest that much in something if it wasn't the backbone of my campaign. Therefore, I will assume, maybe wrongly, that you plan it as the backbone for your campaign, rather than local flavor.
How does one say it? Our friends can be brutally honest critics; and soft spots one didn't know one had can get kicked. So be careful.
Also, this seems like an unusual amount of mythology to take in all at once, from a players' point of view. I suppose you'll dole it out over the length of the campaign. I don't think you'd want to have a massive info dump in the first session and then expect your players to remember and appreciate little nuances two months down the road. I think you'd be setting yourself up for disappointment that way.
Yeah common knowledge for the world would be more of Maya is the goddess of the land, Galal has a very well known church
Somewhat less common knowledge would be sol being a living god within a city teaching those who come to train under him to sharpen their mind, body, and soul. Then Lun is commonly only known within the city that has started it's industrial age recently, those who don't worship him know his by nicknames alone like the nomad, the traveler, the trickster, and the giver of opportunities.
The rest they may or may not find, but yes I plan to early on have them meet Lun but not know that he is Lun kinda deal which he will be the host of the tavern/club that they will come across. Sol and Lun I am hoping to use for the end plan of my campaign which is too far off to worry about atm against a larger threat "Galals shadow". (really I plan for a man to steal the power of Galals shadow to gain the power that he seeks which makes him the real final threat hopefully, but not fleshing all that out yet since that is going to be level 20 stuff)
Then Maya is actually a goddess one of my players know well since he lived alongside their worshipers most of his young life in the forest which he learned his path of mercy as a monk from. (he isn't a monk rp wise, he just learned his technique among the druids, monks, and such there)
So the gods take the visual forms of two suns and the planet
maya, galal, and solun
“maya, earthen mother of life”
represents: nature, love, (still fleshing this out)
worshiped: her worshippers are usually druids, rangers, farmers, those who care for the land.
”solun, the silver god emperor” (the silver sun)
represets: order, chaos, creativity, war, knowledge, trickery (still fleshing this out)
worshipers: none (essentially he isn’t what he currently is)
”Galal, the golden saint” “Galals shadow” (the golden sun and moon)
represents: life, death, creation, destruction, light, darkness (still fleshing this out)

Are people generally aware of Sol/Lun's situation? Is the silver sun still up in the sky?
