The monstrosity lunges out of the water, propelled by tentacles vaulting against the near edge of the pool. Jade is 1 thrown to the NW, against the steep slope, 50 feet and taking 7 damage.
It hurts, but at least she is no longer restrained under water, but also that was a good attack position.
It lunges towards the attempted shock, and sweeps with a bundle of tentacles - Shrutsena and Vrawl need to dodge twice each to avoid the multiple bludgeons.
Now that it is out of the water, you wish it wasn't. A nightmare of dozens of arms radiating with no pattern or symmetry, from a rounded tetrahedron body. No apparent eyes, but some of the tentacles end in trumpet-like cones.
Gurag and the rock-beast are close to the side of the body and can attack. Vrawl can act after his saves
Jade picks herself up off of the ground and jumps back into the fray. If she can get close enough she will attack, aiming for the main body of the thing again... If not, then ignore the below. To hit: 20 Damage: 5

Wow, what is up with the forum dice roller, I mean, the environment of Siberia on Earth 3400
Several rolls in one go:
1 and 1
61116
141
9
Vrawl dodges the first sweep easily, but takes 4 damage from the second. But his attempt to heal backfires, and he takes half his intended healing as damage (3 more)
Reacting to Gurag's spear-slap, the tentacly pyramid slams 3 times at the orc. It is rolling about as well as you are, hitting once for 5 damage, and otherwise tangling its own arms.
Taking Jade's action from above...Gurag and the rock-beast make barely effective jabs at the body, but it proves to be enough, as Jade charges down the hill with enough momentum to finish the eldritch horror off. The tetrahedron rolls forwards out of the pool onto a facet. The rubbery tentacles go still then start to drop off in a sickening decay process. It smells like donuts, which is somehow more disturbing than if it stank. The pool is fairly still, and still flowing from the gap where the rock-beast formed.
"Ok, next time I vote we just walk around interesting walls containing pools..." Jade says as she kneels near the sickeningly sweet remains of the tentacle thing.
((it's the +5 - that logic is an effort bonus, like damage for non-combat, if you were working on something that took several successes, and the time it took mattered. 13 is success))
Shrutsena makes a study of the creature, but it is a new discovery not a known category. Not natural, mechanical, divine, demon, or any kind of elemental - and S knows a fair amount about stuff. A creation from someone messing with magic, that included a mishap or really out-there imagination. Or there is a plane of existence unknown to scholars. It has no blood and the internal structure has these odd spiral tendon-things. Shrutsena is now the world's leading expert on this kind of life, so far as you know.
How it fit in that pool was generated by the thing itself, not some portal to the ether. Some form of higher-dimension-geometric folding. It is gone now - only Gurag really saw it and he was not focused on observation. Jade was in it, but it just felt like more water - plus arms and being squeezed to death.

The wall is about a foot high, the water just less than that as it pours from where rock-beast used to be. The water has a greenish tinge, like oxidized copper not algae. And you can see the source – objects that were once copper and bronze are fallen to rust at the bottom. This must have been an offering site in the heroic age. But there is plenty of shiny among the verdigris. A search recovers:
some things do not rust: about 200 primitive gold coins (equal-sized blobs pressed with a seal)
several handfuls of mixed gems
500 ivory tokens - you have no idea what these would exchange for yet, but definitely valuable
some things should have decayed: among all the undefined rust glops, a single copper trade ingot gleams like new
the sacrificed weapons are little more than hints of outline, yet one has a perfect jade handguard, like the tsuba from a katana
an elk scapula, in the pattern used for divination, covered with oracle bone script
((no one thinks the ancients could make magic items, there was less magic then than now. But some things have become magic over the millennia from being bathed in time and Ether. Finding something that survived among debris is considered a matter of fate))

Already soaked from her first dip in the pool, Jade is a bit disconcerted a she steps back in and finds it only goes up to her knees this time. She takes time to get all of the useful bits out of the water and piled on the ground outside of the pool. The strangely intact items she puts in a separate pile from the rest. "What do you make of those?" Jade asks the magic wielders of the group as she nods towards the potentially magic items.
Shrutsena is temporarily shut off from magic, but there is no time pressure and all will require work back home anyway. You'll eventually figure out:
The jade tsuba can be fitted to a rapier or other thin blade, it has an aura of speed (make two attacks doing d4 rather than one doing d6)
The copper ingot already looks a lot like a hammer head - it has a hole probably once used for carrying. Made into a weapon it would have extra momentum (if you kill a target, damage carries over to another)
Oracle script is for a language none of you speak, and archaic even if you did know Chinese. But some symbols for magic and elements in widespread use appear on the bone tablet. Shrutsena and Vrawl, working together for many days, could each learn a powerful spell relating to time (tbd)

"Jade tsuba for jade, ha the universe is on the nose for that one." Vrawl laughs. "As for the gold and jewels I say we move it someplace and retreive it on our way back. Not even sure we need to move it, how much foot traffic does this place see?"
"When we get home Shrutsena we got work to do." Vrawl say looking over the archaic script.
((Speaking of loot and time)) I said a couple times that when Zminza Seven-eye teleported you, you each ended up with a smelly bundle. I expected curiosity, but it is not meant to be a "gotcha you never looked" type of thing. The hags sent healing stuff. Jars of ointment with two-word instructions - "smear. heals." - from Shelba the Eyeless (known for potions, but not for wordiness). N'demma the Average's famous beetle lozenges. Oh, and Shrutsena's bundle includes a drawing of Matilda’s skull that you are looking for
Gurag massages his arching muscles as he looks with disinterest at the monstrosity. His attention is drawn to the copper ingot. He asks for it, comparing the handle of his current hammer to the hole in the ingot.
(If possible, Gurag would like to swap the head of his hammer for the ingot.)

Shrutsena shakes his head, "I'd rather take it with us now, rather than risk not finding it on our return. Besides, if all goes well, we won't be coming back this way at all. I've a spell that should take us straight back without having to walk out."
Any of you could carry all this loot, for Shrutsena or Gurag it'd be easy, so unless a majority of you insist on burial, you can have it with you. But we can move on pending that detail. And if you have other actions before the next stage we can insert them into the timeline here, Otherwise...
Despite the multiple near-death experiences, it is still only late morning. The disturbance that V and S started feeling a mile or so back does not accelerate as you had guessed - the whole region has a feel of being near Major Magics, but a nice constant nearness. The tentacle monster was not part of the same weirdness, now that you think about it, it felt out of place even in this otherworldly place.
Soon the path slopes upward and the bugs decrease. You reach the point where the low road you took and the high road you tried to take meet. The water is further away to the right / southeast, and the paths converge on a plain past the end of the foothills. Visibility seems fine and there are no twists that would make it possible to suddenly come upon something. But there is strong magic about, so you are not even surprised to suddenly come upon an enormous skull. Should have been visible for miles, but you spot it a dozen yards ahead. Nothing could be clearer. If this doesn't mark the fenceline of the Mother of All Hags there are hats to be eaten. It is just past noon.
The words of Zminza:
I’ll portal you to a cave about 10 miles from Her fenceline. Closest ethereal point that ain’t Hers.
When you got what you need and done what you need to, get back to the cave and trace the pattern on the star – start one point left of the top, then drag a finger 1 left, 3 right, 5 left, 2 right, full circle left, 1 right. That’ll send you to my hut and if you done right we’ll fix you up if you need it.
I don’t know what’s in the cave or what’s between it and Her Domain. She don’t care cause she don’t need to, there ain’t minions or allies or whatever, just wild stuff most likely. But 10 miles northeast of the cave the circle will be obvious. It’s 10 miles around and 10 across – shapes and distance don’t make no sense here. Only travel clockwise around it, no matter what, Her hearing is biased left and She’ll look behind and miss you only if you travel clockwise. You might hear her snoring, that’d be best.
No matter what excepting of course if She’s chasing you. If you mess up and She comes after, run like hell widdershins. Her eyesight is biased right and if you run widdershins She might spiral into Her own hut, likely fall asleep. You can slow down if you see Her spiraling inward. You hear a snore, stop running widdershins and walk clockwise right then.
Don’t stop even She catches one of you. Let’em go, you’ll never rescue them and you’ll make it worse. If you can, save the toe bones, we’ll see what we can do. Best case, She swallows you whole. Usually she spits the toe bones into the ice pit to the Northeast. Or maybe if she don’t swallow whole they’ll drop near where you gets caught. Keep running widdershins, but listen for a burp, then likely she’ll fall asleep. You hear a burp then a snore, go back to clockwise. Get the toe bones and the skull of Matilda Wormface while moving clockwise, then leave.
Matilda’s skull – you’ll know it by the conical point and eyesockets where the temples ought to be. You walk around clockwise and it’ll take a lot less time than you think. There’s a skull or something every few feet but it’s easy to check’em fast. And easy to go around again if you miss it, which you won’t likely unless being chased widdershins. So you take the skull of Matilda Wormface and the toe bones if yer friend gets ate, then turn your back to the fenceline and walk straight, don’t look back, walk at least a mile. Pound the skull to dust on any rock in Siberia, then back to the cave and trace the pattern.
Now it ain’t likely, but maybe the Mother will call to you, whether before or after you take the skull or get chased of get ate or retrieve the toe bones – advice is the same. If She asks “who’s there?” you don’t say anything. She only asks that if She don’t know if anyone’s there. If She asks you to tea or something She knows yer there – you each says your name and say “no thank you ma’am”. Now, if she says please and asks you to be her guest – not tea not dinner but guest – well then you won the jackpot. Walk straight to Her hut head held high, ask for what you want – toe bones and Matilda’s skull as apropos – and answer what she asks. Don’t hold no grudge, all might work out. You might get a trip home easier even.

To hit: 20 Damage: 5
((we are still in the same round, Jade already attacked - Vrawl and Gurag still have their turns - will hold for next round if still applicable))
Rolls of 1, 3, 4 on consecutive attempts - luck is not with Shrutsena this moment. Potentially very bad - 9
Not as bad as it could have been, Shrutsena is down to 1 HP. Jade has felt the pain of death, again, but Vrawl's blessing keeps her at 1 HP.
