Meili Acrobatics: 6
"So far it worked," began Mieli climbing again to Mica's shoulders. Only to immediately lose her balance and bite her tongue in an attempt to sit straight. "Ouf! Very sorry."
Meili managed to keep the urge of grabbing the (obviously) heavy jug the moment she could reach it, waiting until Mica climbed to the top of the stairs. "Beautiful craft!" The girl tried to look into the jug without touching it.
Mica attempts to climb the stairs, but the staircase is narrow and winding. His foot slips on a loose stone, putting both of them off balance. MIca tries to catch himself without dropping Meili from his shoulders, but instead pulls back too far in the wrong direction, sending them both tumbling off of the stairs. He stands up, brushes the dust off and helps Meili to her feet. "Sorry, shall we try again?"
Ok. Same game. Both Meiliand Micamust make an acrobatics check against DC 10. As long as at least one of you succeeds, you are able to maintain your balance and reach the jug. If both of you fail, you stumble off the staircase each taking 4 bludgeoning damage from the fall

Ready to try again, Mica kneels and Meili scrambles onto his shoulders. Once situated, he carefully attempts to climb the stairs, paying a bit more attention to his balance and footing this time. Acrobatics: 19.

Despite the extra care, Mica tumbles to the ground, bringing Meili down with him. He gets up and helps Meili with a look of embarrassment. “This is ridiculous.”He takes another look at the staircase and climbs up by himself this time, moving around the stairs until he gets to the top of the tower, where he takes a close look at the jug and tries to look inside. Perception: 7.

Mica, having had enough of this nonsense, strides purposefully up the stairs. One step... two... three.... As his foot hits the third step, there is a small flicker of light. Velanhas just enough time to recognize a glyph of warding, heretofore hidden by the dust covering the steps. Then there is a crackling roar and a blinding flash, as a 20' radius sphere of lightning erupts from the trap and fills the entire room.
Everyone, make a DEX save DC 13. On a failed save, you take 11 lightning damage, or half that on a successful save.

Ran, a smile on his face after the consecutive tumbles, starts to turn to keep watch again when the thunderous roar and bright light fills the room. He dives down to hit the ground, fearing his armor will attract the lighting.
You know what? I have Inspiration (had to use it before). Using it now: 8 (8)
(Ok, I officially give up on Meili's survivability!)
Double fall did not improve Meili's perception nor helped with the balance. She was right behind Mica (fully agreeing with the "now on foot" notion) when the lightning struck. The girl dropped to the ground for the third time but this time did not stand up afterwords. She was unconscious.

Mica has a split second to react as his foot hits the hidden glyph before he is blown off of the stairs by the force of the lightning blast. He stands, ears ringing, and moves to check on Meili, laying hands and whispering a prayer to the primal spirits to aid her. He looks up at the jar once more in disgust “Any other ideas? I am ready to leave the cursed thing.”
The senses returned to Meili as fast as they left her. "My teacher used to say: if you wake up feeling no pain, you know you're dead. I feel so much alive right now." She stood up and thanked Mica. After a few deep breaths to calm the pain (Hand of Healing for 5 ) she looked at the stairs in disgust. "That path back can be as trapped as the path ahead. Unless someone can find every trap on these stairs, we probably have no choice but continue. And... Falling was a bit less deadly than the trap. I think I have a couple more falls in me yet if you are willing to try one more time."
Ran gets back up to his feet, a few wisps of smoke rising from his chain armor. He pats them to make sure they're not about to start any fires.
"Okay. That hurt," Ran says. He looks over at Mica and Meili. "Want to let someone else have a go while you recover? You've taken a bit of beating there."

"Um... Let's try. But if I fall again, I vote to just risk it and go on foot each." The attempt was repeated.

Ran looks around at the others and then pats his shoulders.
"Any takers?"
