I always forget that you can’t see backstories on shared character sheets, but I have it saved and ready to go. Also, the dragon is kinda just there as part of his history, he was never meant to have any function gameplay wise.
I would also say he is from the realm the story takes place in.
Hello, would like to use homebrew using an existing rolled character from from Marvel Universe RPG, namely "Gambit", snagged a copy from Amazon and want to try transfer skills, abilities etc to this Dnd campaign if you are accepting any new applications, my Character is posted below:
Ability scores: Ability scores: 131314151411
Character name: Remy "Gambit" LeBeau
Character race, class, and subclass: Human / Mutant / Rogue
Background: Guild Artisan
Backstory: Remy LeBeau was a homeless orphan wandering the streets of New Orleans when he foolishly tried to pick the pocket of Jean-Luc LeBeau, head of the Thieves Guild. Rather than punish the boy, LeBeau took Remy under his wing and adopted him. In time, Remy learned the ways of both the Thieves Guild and their chief rivals, the Assassins Guild of New Orleans. To seal a peace between the groups, Gambit married the granddaughter of the patriarch of the Assassins' Guild. But her brother objected, and after a duel, Gambit was forced to flee to prevent war between the guilds. After many adventures, not all honorable, he befriended Storm, who sponsored his admission into the X-Men.
Gambit has the mutant ability to tap into the potential energy contained within an object and transform it into biokinetic energy. When Gambit thus charges a small object and throws it at a target, it releases this energy explosively on impact. He is also an excellent hand-to-hand combatant, especially with his collapsible quarterstaff. Gambit found a home with the X-Men, although he often still feels like anoutsider, overreacting to perceived rejection. He covers his insecurity and pain with a charming facade that usually gets him what he wants. In an ironic twist of fate, what he wants most he can never have: Gambit's true love is Rogue, whose ability prevents any physical contact.
(Ideally he can use a normal deck of cards and charge them with energy and when thrown they act as the "Firebolt" Evocation Cantrip spell.)
(Would like to work closer with you on other details too but will add as much data as I can into the official DnD 5e character PDF or DnD beyond Homebrew)
Here is my character sheet, Dwarven Bard, my frontline Bard warrior.
Name: Magnum
Race: Mountain Dwarf
Class: Bard (College of Strength (Swords variant))
Background: Sage
Short version:
Magnum comes from another continent to than Haven's Reach, but on the same world. In his clan, College of Strength (homebrew modification to College of Valor) Bards fight on the frontline with other warriors, he has been training in that tradition. When strange creatures started appearing in their land, clerics and mages of the clan divined the source of the disruption as perhaps the far away but well known city of Haven's Reach. Magnum always had an itch for travel and knowledge so he volunteered to travel there and report his findings. So after a long sea voyage he is happy to be on solid if strange ground, arriving in Haven's Reach in search of answers.
Longer version:
Magnum is a young dwarf, and has been in training for the war band of his mountain clan for some time. He has a marvelous deep singing voice and so trains with the College of Strength bard auxiliary, one of whom is embedded with every squad and fights along side the fighters as one of them. So he has physical training with the fighters and bard training with the bards. But thats not all, he is a little bit of a polymath and burns the candle at both ends, after training he is almost always found in the library with the scribes, sages, and wizards.
As you might gather from all this, Magnum is quite the nerd, and is often bothering his elders with his many questions to feed his thirst for knowledge, but he is so earnest and kind hearted that they almost always answer. With all his interests, he hasn't had much time or energy for the social side of life, and he doesn't typically go drinking with the lads.
When the extra planar incursions started happening there was a large council meeting with all the elders and the scholars to discuss what the clan should do. Magnum jumped to volunteer to journey far to Haven's Reach, the city that the diviners and oracles identified as a source for the disturbances. To be honest, as much as he was well regarded, the clan was happy for him to be the one to make the journey.
Magnum loaded his pack and set off on the long journey. The long sea journey did not suit Magnum and he spent most of the journey either in his bunk or throwing up over the side of the boat. So he disembarks from his ship, legs wobbly, and green in more than one sense. He will need to find lodging and his bearings, he is on an important mission. But first, the tavern.
Just read the intro. I have Marvel's Adam Warlock set up in D&D Beyond for many moons now. The COMIC BOOK AW... not that lame Guardians of the Galaxy buffoon. :p
But no... is a bit OP except in 'Cosmic Level' adventures. So now, I am trying to recall every fantasy book or game I've been exposed to -- all those characters where ONE might stand out to me. (( Other than the Eternal Champion and ultimate downer, Elric of Melniboné and his soul eating sword. wait.. am I sensing a thread here? )) Perhaps a lesser known 'Eternal Champion like Duke Dorian Hawkmoon von Köln, another incarnation of the Eternal Champion. He was born in the World of the Dark Empire and bore the Black Jewel embedded in his skull. (( yikes ANOTHER gem in a forehead ... I really do have a type. :D )) again, perhaps a bit too high level (and maintenance) here.
If only I could recall the 'levels' of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser characters by Fritz Leiber. Great stories. Need a smoal figure of rogue-ish tendencies?
Character race, class, and subclass: Reborn, Rogue (eventually phantom)/Wizard (Order of Scribes)
Background and Backstory: Background: Hermit, Backstory: She was raised from an old crypt underneath the large church she calls home. During her time haunting the church she learned how to speak like a someone from this time, even new languages just from listening. Although she would creep down to look through the priests books here and there. Everything came to her quickly, like it wasn't quite learning, but remembering. Time passes, the church burning down, leading her to find her way in a world she has only heard of until now.

My plan was to not have any characters that already exist in another world. Would it be possible for you to modify your backstory? Your character can still have the same abilities. Maybe he is a descendant of Gambit? :)
Character race, class, and subclass: Human / Mutant / Rogue
Background: Charlatan
Backstory: Zachery Hodgson, referred to as "Zak" most of the time, was always a natural con artist, hustler and had a knack for handling and manipulating playing cards. He grew up in the streets, as he never knew his father and his mother always promised that he would be back one day and that they would lead a better life. Pretty early in life Zak realized honest work was a much less efficient way of making a living than separating people from their own hard-earned gold. Violence was overrated, as is all that climbing and safe-cracking malarkey that thieves take so much pride in. Say the right things in the right tone of voice to the right person, and they won’t just hand over your gold, they’ll thank you for the privilege.
Zak always had a knack for this sort of work. He knew what makes people tick, what they want, what they fear, in turn he knew how to push those buttons. He could have gone into politics, but somehow this feels less dirty. As he he grew into an adult, his abilities to hustle people with a deck of cards, was unfathomable, he had mastered the sleight of hand. His ability to fight also improved greatly, even though he was against violence, it was a necessity, as not all people could be fooled or appreciated a good con.
Zak also discovered that he has a mutant ability to tap into the potential energy contained within an object and transform it into biokinetic energy. Thus when Zak charges a small object and throws it at a target, it releases this energy explosively on impact. Combined with his ability to manipulate playing cards, Zak found that he could use playing cards as projectile weapons'.
(Ideally he can use a normal deck of cards and charge them with energy and when thrown they act as the "Firebolt" Evocation Cantrip spell.)

Sure thing, that's totally understandable, changed the name, background and backstory, went with Charlatan, hope it's up to spec. :)

It all sounds good :) Now we just need to find a way for you to use the Fire Bolt cantrip and maybe even spells. You could choose the feat 'Magic Initiate' if you are a Variant Human that gets a feat from the beginning. Feel free to suggest a specific 'Magic Initiate' option that would give you a cantrip and spell which we can reflavor into a kinetic attack. Also, I will reflavor the damage type to force and allow you to use Sneak Attack when you use those cantrips and spells, provided you fulfill the rest of the requirements.

I like your thought process :) but it's all up to you. I just need to make sure that you're not too overpowered when compared to others. However, if you reflavor something without changing the rules itself, it should still be balanced enough. We already have at least one rogue, and maybe more, but that shouldn't stop you if that's the character that calls out to you.

Found that Magic Initiate: Warlock, gives me Eldritch Blast cantrip, its a force attack, but also,
"Magic Stone" cantrip, can imbue pebbles or in this case cards :) to be thrown given as bonus action (seems fitting with Zak 's roguish speed) and is bludgeoning dmg 1D6+2 at lvl 1.
You touch one to three pebbles and imbue them with magic. You or someone else can make a ranged spell attack with one of the pebbles by throwing it or hurling it with a sling. If thrown, it has a range of 60 feet. If someone else attacks with the pebble, that attacker adds your spellcasting ability modifier, not the attacker’s, to the attack roll. On a hit, the target takes bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your spellcasting ability modifier. Hit or miss, the spell then ends on the stone.
In either case, both can be fully customized to something different, be it dmg, type of dmg, area of effect, description, to name but a few :)
For the 3rd spell I can get comprehend languages lvl 1 spell, adding to backstory of charlatan's smooth talking, or charm person :).

Name: Herman
Race: Simic Hybrid
Class: Artificer (Battlesmith)
Backstory:
Herman was once a human; a skilled taxidermist, tanner, and leather crafter. When his darling wife Dotty died of a wasting disease he vowed to find a way to reunite with her. Thus began his interest in necromancy and other forbidden arts. He studied every medical text he could get his hands on and practiced surgeries on the animal carcasses that he had access to, inching ever closer to his goal of reanimating his wife (or so he thought). He eventually learned to replace his own failing body parts with parts harvested from various beasts, monstrosities and even people. He was able to graft all manner of magical limbs, organs, and appendages onto his frame each time gaining a small part of their residual magic or natural abilities. Now a twisted, shambling monstrosity himself, he travels the multiverse hunting ever more powerful creatures in hopes of harvesting more powerful abilities from their corpses. Hearing of a strange portal recently opening nearby, Herman makes his way there looking for strange new creatures to study and assimilate.
Herman’s “Iron Defender” is a crude flesh golem of his own creation which he calls Dotty.
It all sounds good :) The only Thing is that i Can not open The charector sheet for some reason. It is the last Thing i need to see to aprove you charector :)
Sorry I had to recreate and forgot to re-export it, its marked public now. I'm still tweaking though. I thought about it overnight and decided that he shouldn't be proficient in any CHA skill checks so I'll fix that now.

Hello, would like to use homebrew using an existing rolled character from from Marvel Universe RPG, namely "Gambit", snagged a copy from Amazon and want to try transfer skills, abilities etc to this Dnd campaign if you are accepting any new applications, my Character is posted below:
Ability scores: Ability scores: 13 13 14 15 14 11
Character name: Remy "Gambit" LeBeau
Character race, class, and subclass: Human / Mutant / Rogue
Background: Guild Artisan
Backstory: Remy LeBeau was a homeless orphan wandering the streets of New Orleans when he foolishly tried to pick the pocket of Jean-Luc LeBeau, head of the Thieves Guild. Rather than punish the boy, LeBeau took Remy under his wing and adopted him. In time, Remy learned the ways of both the Thieves Guild and their chief rivals, the Assassins Guild of
New Orleans. To seal a peace between the groups, Gambit married the granddaughter of the patriarch of the Assassins' Guild. But her brother objected, and after a duel, Gambit was
forced to flee to prevent war between the guilds.
He covers his insecurity and pain with a charming facade that
usually gets him what he wants.
Zachery “Zak” Hodgson - Rogue (Thief) - Realms Collide: The Multiversal Convergence
Once I see the scores will make the character.

Name: Magnum
Race: Mountain Dwarf

Background: Sage

Character name: "Miri" Miriam
Character race, class, and subclass: Reborn, Rogue (eventually phantom)/Wizard (Order of Scribes)
Background and Backstory: Background: Hermit, Backstory:
She was raised from an old crypt underneath the large church she calls home. Instead of a thrall the necromancers were hoping for they brought her back to life in truth due to an artifact they had in their possession. There was infighting in the group and the necromancers turned on one another. She was pulled to safety by one of their number named Tash. He hid her in the upper steeple of the church, and promised he would come back for her. He didn't, and she reasons he was probably found by his people and killed. She stayed in the steeple and rafters, trying to absorb what she could from the interactions below. This time period is different from her scattered memories of her first life and every new link of information she finds thrills her.
Eventually she realizes she doesn't have a name, or more aptly she can not remember it. She picked one of the names she liked from the teachings of the priests below, Miriam.

Yes we are still recruiting :) I take a look at you charectors in The order that you all wrote in The chat :)
My plan was to not have any characters that already exist in another world. Would it be possible for you to modify your backstory? Your character can still have the same abilities. Maybe he is a descendant of Gambit? :)
Sure thing, that's totally understandable, changed the name, background and backstory, went with Charlatan, hope it's up to spec. :)
Zachery “Zak” Hodgson - Rogue (Thief) - Realms Collide: The Multiversal Convergence
It all sounds good :) The only Thing is that i Can not open The charector sheet for some reason. It is the last Thing i need to see to aprove you charector :)
It all sounds good :) Your character has been approved. I will send you a private message with a link to The Discord chat and the D&D Beyond campaign.

Sorry I had to recreate and forgot to re-export it, its marked public now. I'm still tweaking though. I thought about it overnight and decided that he shouldn't be proficient in any CHA skill checks so I'll fix that now.
Sounds like a interesting charector :)
But those stats are not the greatest so I will allow you to used point buy or standard array instead if you want to :)
the last thing is I just need to see you charector sheet :)
