The powerfully built Leonin will take it under advisement that the trap ends after 20ft and decide to clear that distance with a single running jump. He moves with incredible strength and flies an impossibly long distance in a single bound, coming to a slidding stop at the far side of the plates.
He waits while flexing his retractable claws. Shifting his weight from side to side and making sure the blood stays flowing.
"Why are there traps in this place? What exactly is this place??" He doesn't direct these questions at anyone in particular nor is it clear he even expects an answer to them. What is clear from his tone is he's agitated and confused about being here still and his demeanor is starting to remind you a bit of a caged wild animal.

It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
Flax sends a word of warning back through the mental link, alerting of what he hears ahead, and slowly to a creeping, quieter pace.

Artanwants to get close as he can read lips if there is talking going on. But at the same time, doesn't want to get spotted so will hang back hoping he can overhear anything being said around the laughter. (Perception check: 17)
Kordia slinks forward, and comes upon a strange scene. The chamber is rough-hewn, carved from the stone, though in stark contrast to the usual artistry of underground drow architecture. three other passages lead off from the room, each with a sign nailed to the wall besides them, though she can't quite make out the words. In the center of the room is a circular table, around which sits four very strange creatures, all appearing at least partially human
The first appears to be an mix of man and beast, combining the features of a well-muscled warrior with the likeness of a coyote or hyena. A massive blade lays propped up against the table, the wicked curve of the blade gleaming in the light of the lantern which sits upon the table.
The second is humanoid in shape, though its substance appears to be some form of ooze. The tentacles that it uses for arms shove small black chips around the table, for it seems the monsters are playing poker. Floating around inside the ooze is a crudely made battleaxe, the blade shifting as if made of alchemical silver.
The third is very strange. At first what appears to be an elf is revealed to be only partially that, for their skin has a bark-like texture, and leaves grow from their hair in a massive poof. Beside this plant-like figure is a long, gnarled wooden staff, with thorns and other spiky plants growing out of it. Most noticeable is the venus flytrap attached to the head of the weapon.
As for the fourth, well it is strangest of all. The creature seems to be made of a shell of floating stone held aloft by gusting winds. A glow emanates from the core of this one, for a blazing fire is burning within its chest. Veins of water run throughout the creature, giving it life. It's eyes crackle with lightning, and it currently is inspecting a finely made bow in its hands, polishing the wood.
What do you do?

Kordia will describe all she sees mentally to her linked companions... figuring Flax will clue in Artan while Ember & Beshlog can communicate the situation to the others 'not linked'. She will try to also convey the room shape, door placements and any nooks, crannies or ledges which might be advantageous to the party in a fight (or hiding).
"I suppose there's a chance that they won't immediately try to kill us..." he mutters. "Maybe we should have someone try to talk to them first and then tear them a new one if they turn out to be hostile?"

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Flax is going to stroll forward, unhidden. If what Kordia described is accurate, they may not freak out seeing a giant lion-man. In fact, that may be more comforting to them than the sight of humans. He calls out in his gruff voice. "Hello. Are you... gambling? Where are we?" His intentions are non-hostile, but his reflexes are primed for danger.

Bold move. Bold move. I respect it, but I can't say I advise it.
Flax, feeling the courage for which his feline ancestors are seen as a symbol of, steps forward, confident in his own ability to not die. Will his hubris be his downfall? Maybe. Maybe not. Nevertheless, he steps forward and into the torchlight. Standing in the flickering shadows, his bare body devoid of any armor, his shoulders wide and set, he seems quite intimidating. The four humanoid creatures rise from their chairs, their various appendages (tentacles, paws, ETC), instinctively reaching for their weapons.
But, when they see the lion-man is supposedly here with peaceful intentions they relax. The beastman raises a clawed paw in greeting, and speaks out to the leonin in the language of the beast-kin, the talk of animals and primal creatures. Artan, his powers and training in tune with the natural world, is able to understand the creatures words, but the others in the party are clueless besides Flax, of course.
"A fellow one of us, are ya? Well take a chair! We are gambling, as for what for, well, don't tell boss, but it's the rights to the prisoners. I like my munchies." The gnolli-sh creature gives a wolfish grin "And how do ya not know where we are? You must be new aren't you?"
I'm going to need a deception check in Flax's next post to lie about whatever he says unless he somehow doesn't utter a single lie, even one of ommision.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Flax puts himself fully into the mentality of a servant of a war machine, the soldier he is, or, was. He suspects that's who he is dealing with now, other servants of a higher order. He growls softly, not in a threatening way but in a frustrated one. "You're right, I shouldn't ask questions." He pulls up the chair and takes a seat. "Just deal me in. How long do we get to play?"Pauses for a brief moment. "Shit, that was a question again."
I don't think any of that was a lie, direct or by omission, but if it was - Deception: 20

Artanwill hear the fact that they are in fact, not pleasant people who seem intent on eating the two newest members of the party who they clearly haven't met yet seeing as they don't seem to realise that one of the prisoners is the one they are talking to. He is holding his staff ready for combat and whispers to Kordia assuming that she is with him again "They have claimed they are gambling to find out who gets ownership of you and Flax, and any other prisoners we might have missed if there are more. And at least one of them is planning on eating you. We are unlikely to get out of this without a fight."
If there is an insight roll, Artan uses his reaction to reduce it (if they have one each, it will be the dryad's one) by 6. If he can delay combat for everyone else to get ready first, that is preferable.
The Plant Dryad waves it's hand, and roots burrow up from the earth, forming another chair between the Dryad and the Beast for which Flax to sit in. They deal him a round of cards, and the game begins. The Beast laughs at Flax's comment "Just sit down and join the game. So tell me, where did you meet the Master" this last word is spoken in a hushed whisper, reverently.
Flax, I want three Sleight of Hand or Gaming set (cards) [which use intelligence] checks to see how well you do.
Beshlog, since you are hanging in the back, I would like you to make a Perception check
He plays it straight, which... he isn't especially great at(Int+cardtool=0). Grumbling whenever luck turns sour, "I'm better with dice!"
When asked about the master he'll rebutt, "Would 'the master' want us talking about them like that?"pausing briefly and again saying "Shit."At the realization he's asked questions again. Or, maybe it was the realization how bad his hand is.

Without pausing his turn, unfazed he discards a card and taking another, he says in a grumbling voice, deep, commanding, "Watch yourself. You ever seen what lion does to a hyena? Or did you want to find out what he does to them personally?" He makes no threatening moves, his postures doesn't change. That threat was just for the Gnoll(?), and his demeanor means to make that clear to the rest of the table he isn't being beligerent or aggressive to anyone else.

”how much would you bet on that?” The dryad asks with a creaking grin, urging the beast to ante up.
