“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
While the others rest, Bastion busies himself at the forge, after a few moments of consideration, he decides to do a little wood carving first, working a simple image into a small disk of wood, and then pressing it into hard clay to form a simple mold, poking two wooden dowels into one part of it.
setting a fire and pouring silver coin into a suitable thick ceramic pot. The pot is placed at the heart of the forge, and then Bastion starts working the bellows, blasting fresh air into the glowing coal, heating the forge until the pot is glowing orange and the silver finally begins to melt.
One by one, he takes an arrowhead and using tongs dips it into the silver. He lets excess metal drip off of each arrowhead before carefully setting them off to the side to cool and harden.
When done, he pours the remaining silver into the mold he'd made earlier, the hardwood dowels he'd left starting to burn but lasting long enough to form a pair of holes in the solidifying silver disk.
The next morning, he presents the arrowheads to those planning to make use of them, and then something else to Ghanima. He states, "I don't know if this will actually help, but if silver hurts them, surely it couldn't hurt?" He is holding out a silver amulet with the holy symbol of Ghanima's deity emblazoned upon it.
When all are ready, Bastion mounts up on his warhorse and sets out towards where they had left the trail, hoping to make good time in catching up.
If I melted enough silver to dip something like an arrowhead in there without problems, there'd be a good bit of metal left over afterwards, providing the cleric with a nice new holy symbol seemed like an appropriate use for it.
I think 50 silvered Arrowhead ought to do the trick. Dm, let me know how much that would have cost
Bastion shakes his head no to Ghanima's question. "Honestly I am uncertain if the gods have any interest in having a follower such as myself. More than one priest has told me that since I was made rather than born, that I have no soul to become a petitioner after my destruction, that I'm nothing more than someone's malfunctioning property."
"The thing is, while I reject the suggestion that I should resign myself to being a slave, I have no evidence that they are actually wrong. The gods have never answered my prayers, nor even paid attention to me as far as I can tell."
Rivoril, avails himself to the molten silver and therefore dips all of his twenty arrow heads into the silver for coating. "I need to even the odds otherwise I will not be able to hit some of the undead that may come our way," He says.
The night passes with out issue as you all get some nice rest. As the dawn breaks you are able to break you fast in the inn before heading back out to the Ruins. All the arrows have been dipped in the liquid silver and the silver amulet has been made. As you ready the horses those without can purchase a couple light riding horses for 100 gp each.
Bastion will gladly hand over the funds to secure mounts for those in need of one. He states wryly, "Call that a no interest loan, you can pay me back the next time we actually see a payout for this mess."
It does not take you long to get the horses and get everyone set up to travel. Heading back to the ruins you soon find yourself at the eastern edge where the drag marks are to be seen. You set off following them as they lead in a straight line towards the trees. Every one receives 1,000 experience for the game thus far.
Bastion keeps a wary eye out for possible threats as he rides along on his large courser. Arion had a bit of a stubborn streak with anyone other than the warforged, but was well trained, and handled his rider's bulk well.
Avan prays to a different pantheon of nature spirits to his usual angry and wrathful ones, beseeching them for good weather, and safe, rapid travel. As such he reaches out to spirits in the wind and sky, as well as the earth and trees, also taking a moment even to pray to Meilikki for a good trail and the wits to follow it, as well as his usual nightly patrons for enough moonlight by which to see.
He takes a few minutes to judge the weather for the next few days

Before leaving the village, Avan puts a call out for ornate bottles if anyone in the village has one, particularity asking the innkeeper, possibly also the priest. What he's looking for needs to be of at least 50gp value and be suitable to be stoppered and used as a magic focus for a Bottle of Smoke spell. He replies to Ghanima, "Yes, you may, if he lets you. You'll have to tell me that tale, but later. With the journey I have planned, you will need to concentrate on staying in the saddle." The jackal seems amused at first but tries to stay close to Avan even when pulled away.
Having wasted some magical potential and channelling his mid-level powers into a single focused task at hand that only requires a weaker power, he casts Traveler's Mount 8 times, one for each horse, to get them up to speed with the jackal (on which he casts Longstrider) for 7 hours. "Your horses are faster now and you can ride them hard, twice as fast, and they shouldn't feel a thing! The only downsides being now they can't attack and the jackal will feel the burn in his muscles from hustling, but he's tough enough to take the damage." He then follows up with a casting of Wind at Back, bathing all in a soft green glow and again doubling their overland speed for the whole day.
Departing the ruins, Avan takes the lead in in following the enemies' tracks:
Kixarn's hood gets blown back by the unexpected speed of his normally placid mount, and he hangs on tight as the group makes their way back to the tracks. Pondering his newly learned spells in his mind, he is eager (but not TOO eager) to try out the new facets of his abilities.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rivoril, mounts a horse and rides off with the group surprised by the way this horse seems to be moving quick. Keeping, a close eye look out and a listening ear for trouble.
The group rapidly makes it back to the ruins and begins to follow the tracks. You fly over the distance as the tracks are still clear all the way to the trees and the river. Right before the river about 50 paces back the tracks suddenly end. There are no tracks or boots marks that extend beyond the 50 paces. You can see boot prints all around and drag marks even boot tracks that have been scrapped over by what you have felt were coffin marks. You have not heard anything strange since leaving the ruins.
The tracks are less than two days old by Avan's estimation.
"I was worried about this. Everyone was so keep on getting back to the village that I put it in the back of my head, but someone had mentioned that vampires cannot cross rivers, but they can get on boats." Does there appear to be an impression where a gangplank could have been dropped for them to board a vessel.

Or the equivalent in gems?

"Can I still ride the Jackal? It reminds me of someone from home."
From time to time, I will just run alongside the jackal when he's a little tired.
LOL. I thank you, but I too have the funds (both hard cash n gems-just was questioning Kn if they were set on gp).
They will take gems if that is what you have.

Once the party's at the treeline, he halts everyone.
8 castings covers everyone including Dena, right?
Traveler's mount increases mount speeds by +20', and can hustle (double move) without the usual damage or fatigue, however it can't attack.
Hence the different spell for the jackal who has a faster base speed of 60'.
Longstrider is a simple +10'
So, that's 70' per move, 2 moves a round for hustling = 140'/round. Wind at Back doubles to 280'/round.
