For the sake of making good acquaintances with the barmaid and the innkeeper, Ree'lyn tries to remember the name of the barmaid's name while he discreetly looks around using the band's performance as distraction for his subtlety, profiling the faces of the people in there and registering their mannerisms and reactions, particularly towards his group members.
Gilliam hoists himself on the stage after talking to the band a bit and starts singing in a very cheerful voice, very different from the low toned Dwarvish song you heard around the campfire not too long ago. He does his best to convey his enthusiasm onto the audience. The first song he picks, a well known song about the nice things in a farmer's life, goes something like this:
Oh, give me a home where the wild boars roam Where the deer and the antelopes play Where seldom is heard a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day
Home, home on the range Where the wildlife plays in the woods Where seldom is heard a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day
Where the air is so pure, and the zephyrs so free, The breezes so balmy and light, That I would not exchange my home on the range, For all of the cities so bright.
Where the people still smile, living is worth your while Where the crops grow ever so tall, My farm is my home, where I’m never alone With friends and family around
Home, home on the range Where the wildlife plays in the woods Where seldom is heard a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day
How often at night when the heavens are bright I see the light of those flickering stars Have I laid there amazed and asked as I gazed If their glory exceeds that of love
Home, home on the range Where wildlife plays in the woods Where seldom is heard a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day.
Hey guys, just as a side note. Sometimes things will happen that you won't understand and you may not even find them appropriate, however I can assure you it didn't happen for no reason. As a DM, our goal is to make the story as fun for you guys as we can. That will also mean that we may throw some curve balls to keep you on your toes. I never do anything to punish players such as making them roll a saving throw when they don't need it nor will I tell you no if you wan't to do something unless I have specific instructions for a specific section to follow. There is also time constraints on some sections, not about how long we play the game but some sections have like " the brawl lasts 5 min" obviously that is hard to do with a PbP game so we will work with everyone to insure they get a turn. You may have to make some rolls to achieve what you where hoping for with a complex move but I am fair. If you think I am "making something up" please message me in a private message and I will explain why I did what I did but know I am hoping you all trust me to roll out a story for you guys that will challenge and reward you. We are going based off of milestones here, I will tell you to level up at certain times for reasons I know about but you will not till revealed later on. I should have all of your character sheets so I know your AC classes and your bonus attacks but if you want to do something I don't understand, throwing out book facts that I can not read ( not you guys, a different group did this) will not make the game play go smoothly. If you want to quote a page in the players handbook please do so in a PM and I will read up on said moves or what have you. I am still learning, but I have run this game in real life with the same situations revealing themselves and had no issues, but just leaving and publicly shaming me ( again not you guys, a different story) is no way to go about making the game play go smoothly or fair to your other members. It is hard to get other players in a group after turmoil. With that we can continue, I just wanted to throw this out there :)
((Guys, don't forget that Gilliam has no bloody clue what you are trying to achieve, if he needs to be of any help, he might need a nudge or two in the right direction))
From his seat, between one sip and bite and another, Ree'lyn tries to catch Gilliam's attention with subtle gestures, to make him notice they are trying to judge the people's reactions on them and general conversations.
Despite his difficulties in his observations, Ree'lyn awaits for Gilliam's performance to end, expecting the stage had offered him an advantage point to observe the crowd and that the cue for that had been understood. At the same time, he continues to make an effort to gather some information from his own attention spent on the crowd.

Sure, so Gilliam goes to play with the band. Cairn is listening to the band. Ree'lyn, Flyn and Sildar are all listening and drinking some ale.
