After everyone goes, Georges decides to hop in last, gently landing on the ground. "I swear, that spell gets more fun every time I use it!" He grinned before looking around the tunnel, trying to search for some doors, documents, or markings to show just where they were standing.
Corum retches like he might throw up Guys a I am one for adventure but... I'm not sure this is the best use of our time standing around in poo. Maybe we should head back up
"It certainly was not my idea to go down here..." Navi would try taking extra high steps to move around rather than just trudging through it. She'd be looking for any more threats to the party, then she'd be looking for any way to move out to another area or higher/drier ground.

There is only a small hole (about the size of a fist) at the lowest point, where water slowly washes down the guano. Else, the hollow is somewhat egg shaped.
Navi just starts laughing, dealing with their situation with humour rather than anger. "Ay, I'm gunna guess you can't float us back up there." Then she'd let out a big exhale and stare up at the opening, then scan the walls for the shortest or easiest wall to climb.
(Essentially she's looking to use her pitons, hammer and rope to get up the wall. She wants to make sure that it's not too slippery or difficult for those who may not be athletic. I'll toss in an investigation check: 12 )
"There has got to be something down here, while you all figure out a way out of here for us, I will rummage around and see if I can find anything." At which point Ulrich will shuffle around the guano tapping his foot to see if he feels anything different in the floor or look for a hidden/covered entrance anywhere.
Corum suddenly remembers some things from his time on a farm and shyly says I know its gross guys, but you know guano is really a great fertilizer. Once we get this area under control we can bring some people out here to harvest it so they can use it to help with the farming element of this new colony. Not sure how it works but this one time Farmer Torin used it on his fields and it stood out from every other farm in the village. You know I wonder if we can sell the knowledge of this location... he trails off as starts thinking of how to make nore gold.
Navi would look to Corum and she'd raise a brow, impressed about the suggestion to use it as fertilizer. That's a really good idea. And then he loses her when he mumbles off about selling it. Her brows furrow and she'd scoff. They're already paying us to do this.
If Ulrich doesn't find any hidden switches or anything Navi didn't find on her scan, she'd just go to a wall and start trying to hammer some pitons into the wall.
Georges squirms a bit at the idea of selling the guano. "You know, if you're that desperate for gold, I can just have my father give you some. Either way, i'm not touching this stuff any more than I have to."
"You know, perhaps it's a little late now, but in the future we should leave a rope up at the top of holes likes these, just as a way to get out. Either way, we need to be getting out of here. Navi, would you like some Help with that?" Bren begins to chant over her for a few seconds, casting Guidance on her before helping her with the pitons.
“Apparently we like teh learn the hard way.” Navi would chuckle with a grunt as she drives a piton into the wall. “We can add the ‘rope note’ to the ‘light note’ from earlier.” After driving a couple pitons into the wall with Bren’s help, she’d pull out her one rope. “We may need a second rope, depending on how we wanna do this. Option 1: we tie ourselves to each other and climb as a unit. May not require a spare. Option 2: one person make the climb to the top alone to secure a rope to drop it down for others to climb. This would probably require a second rope for the full depth of this pit. Unless someone has better options.”
DM Note: I left you hanging with part of the party still up top by going to "rounds". I really didn't want the party record to be "Killed a big bug, some little flying lizards, and drowned in guano." So, if someone WANTS to tie a couple ropes together, and shimmy down. Navi could probably eventually get you out, with some really lucky rolls, as she has the equipment.
Besides the small hole at the bottom, which seems to act as a drain, there are no other ways out. Examining the space, you can tell hollow has been mostly filled with water in times past, even recently, by the high water marks on the wall. Below the top few inches of guano, the floor of the cave has been filled with minerals deposited by the creatures.
At the highest point which you can walk, you discover a skeleton. Only the head and part of the chest sticks above the layers of minerals and guano. The skull is the right size for a human or an elf, but it just isn't right. The forehead is tall and broad, its brow crossed by a pronounced ridge, the cheeks are also broad and the lower jaw juts out pugnacious. The skeleton itself has been turned to stone by untold years of being buried and immersed in the guano. This is explained by the extra long upper and lower canine teeth, with the lower actually jutting up slightly above the the upper lip
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(deleted last post to save confusion.)
Corum will go over to the skeleton, and after examining it (Nature 16) will take at least the skull to take back to the base camp for more study.
(is there so much poop and minerals that I wouldn't be able to make a little area around the skeleton clear to study the ground and see if there are any items around it?)
