’Scar’, currently engaged with Virran, makes a lunge at his quarry, swing his short sword in two quick successive actions - left... right...
Attack: 18 Damage: 5
Attack: 15 Damage: 6
The first attack slashes Virran deeply, and while reeling from this attack, the following swing slashes him a second time. Virran takes 11 points of piercing damage.
‘Spitter’, encouraged by his comrade’s success, makes his retaliation against Swift, short sword whirring.
Attack: 13 Damage: 6
Attack: 20 Damage: 6
His first lunge is deflected as Swift brings up her staff, but she isn’t prepared as the leader brings his sword for another attack. This time it pierces her skin along the waist.
The final ruffian, seeing a threat in Brandywise, moves to flank him. While Brandywise faces his first opponent, the final Redbrand attacks from the side.
Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Attack: 21 Damage: 4
Caught off guard, Brandywise manages to deflect the first assault of the newcomer, but takes a glancing blow from the next. Brandywise takes 3 points of damage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Naivara quickly does a perception check (14) as she has a strong feeling there are other redbrands hiding and this battle will not stop with 4 of them. It would do you well to remember her powerful, all-hearing elf ears are absolutely amazing and she would only need a small check to hear a Redbrand breathing a mere street away.
Movement: Naivara moves in behind the Redbrand on the left, she passes behind Virran as she moves and slides a potion into his pocket (Sleight of hand check: 20)
Attack: Naivara Touches the Redbrand and casts “Inflict Wounds” Attack: 24 Damage: 15
With everything going on, Naivara is unable to focus her attention on the surrounds. Instead, her attention is drawn to Virran's plight. Racing forward, she pulls a healing potion from her own pocket and moves to slide it into Virran's. The bottle gets caught and, as Naivara slides past Virran and his quarry, the potion tumbles to the ground. Concerned it's a trap, the Redbrand looks down at the movement and Naivara makes use of the opportunity.
Now standing begin the scarred man, Naivara rests a hand against his back. Like stitches coming undone, the wound caused by Virran now tears apart. The ruffian drops his weapon as he clutches his wound, but the damage is already done. He collapses to the ground, dead.
Virran collects the potion from the ground.
*** So ends Naivara's turn. Brandywise, I believe you are up. There are 3 Redbrands remaining. ***

[OOC: I wonder if I was focused on looking for that "Blurb" character - Curse Stig's lisp.
[OOC: Not for this round of battle but a suggestion for the future - based on the way I've been DM'd and in turn DM'd. Maybe makes for faster play by leveraging what little non-asymmetry play-by-post has ... At the start of the battle DM pairs off fighters - in this example 4x Vegans (Redbrands) vs 6x Heroes. Includes "spares" (our 2 heroic extras) choosing "fight" or "serve from the back" ... When any character "falls", then the DM "re-pairs" and the battle proceedes.]
[OOC: In some games, the DM plays that at 0HP a character is on the ground bleeding but not dead. What rule is DM FV playing?]
The final ruffian, seeing a threat in Brandywise, moves to flank him. While Brandywise faces his first opponent, the final Redbrand attacks from the side.

Some weapons are Versatile. This means they can be wielded as one-hand or two-handed weapons. When wielded as two-handed, the damage roll in brackets applies. Your longsword is versatile, so using it two-handed would allow 1d10.
Some weapons are classified as light, which means they can be used by fighters in two-weapon fighting. The longsword you are using isn't light, so two-weapon fighting won't apply - might I suggest a short sword or a scimitar at the shop after the battle? Also, you have a shield currently equipped, which is adding to your armour class. If you are attempting a Ninja Turtle style shield defense (reads 'wearing the shield as a shell'), ok! But if going to use two-weapons, we'll need to remove the shield.
Given your interest in using two-weapon fighting, for this round I'll modify the damage for a scimitar (1d6), but keep your attack roll.
We'll move follow-up chat to messages and leave this easier to read for the fights, but you can let me know how you want your character decked out.
Attack: 16 Damage:9 scimitar
Attack: 17 Damage 4 Handaxe
(OOC: Let's just say that the DM rolls favour you strongly, unlike your own, Stig's and Naivara's!)
With cry of "Vegans, diiiieee!" Brandywise launches an assault of his own at the Redbrand facing him. First with his sword, Brandywine slashes downward, cutting into the shoulder and opening a slit in the ruffian's armour. In a smooth motion, he brings the hand axe across with his other swing and lodges it into the wound. With a sharp cry of pain, the Redbrand drops his sword and attempts to cover the wound with his hand.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hearing the command from the approaching Cleric, the Redbrand's knees begin to buckle. 9 (wisdom saving throw). Stronger than he appears, he shakes the word out of his hand and turns to his focus on Stig.
@ALL
(wisdom saving throw - happy to be challenged on this... Following the info on your spell page, Stig, the Redbrand is allowed to make a wisdom saving throw. Unfortunately for the party, DM roll was d20-1 = 17). Agreed?
Watching the Vanguard bravely enter the melee Asmodean can do naught but admire the bravery of his new companions.........and wonder what sort of madness had occurred to make him think joining them was a good idea.
But it was too late now.
With a sign of resignation Asmodean surveys the scene and feeling that his half orc companion seemed to be in the most trouble, bit that looked under control, so Asmodean does the only thing that seemed right.
He turns his attention to the Redbrand facing off against LSA and points his finger. ”Hillarous” he whispers, before returning to his rear guard duties.
Virran wanted one kept alive and not too many people had actually died from laughter.
(OOC - in your spell info it will tell you whether or not to make a spell attack to hit. This is predominantly for attacks that do damage. ‘Command’ and ‘Hideous Laughter’ do not need an attack throw, as they are not damaged based. In the spell info it also sets the Wisdom Saving throw level. Thankfully, played it right.

(Redbrand Wisdom saving throw 16)
The Redbrand stands before Swift, his lips beginning to quiver. A smile starts to spread, then an uncontrollable laugh. The laughter increases, the Redbrand doubling over, then he collapses to the ground howling with mirth. For some reason, he finds the quarter staff endlessly hilarious and as Swift moves it, he cackles even harder.
(Redbrand is prone and unable to take action. Wisdom throws will occur on his turn and try and break free of the giggles).
Ok, Redbrand turn!

Swift takes 6 points of damage.
Seeing the ranger already engaged, the third ruffian moves the short distance to stop reinforcement and takes two swings at BrandyWise.
Attack: 9 Damage: 3
Attack: 12 Damage: 8
Brandywise, however, is ready and easily knocks aside both swings. Neither attack find purchase nor opening. No damage taken.
All moves accounted for.

OOC: Assuming it's Stig's turn...
Stig moves around behind the fourth Redbrand who flanked BrwBrb, on his way he gestures at said Rebrand and casts Command.
"Grovel" he says.

We are now back to the start. New plan for battle order -
Virran and Swift can take their actions as soon as they can.
DM - Redbrands will act
All others can take their action without waiting for initiative order.
we'll see how this goes.
