(( Rolling now, in case advantage doesn't matter or Ilecerys makes a last minute appearance ))
Galtheon focuses on the menace in front of him; it represents not only the corruption of the mine, but the greed and corruption that led to the loss of almost everything he held dear.
(( woo hoo...who needs a monk...see above ; an additional 23 damage... ))
Indeed! Greedyguts has now taken 64 damage and is looking sorely wounded, very close to succumbing to his injuries. He does have the capability to heal himself or flee into stone, but we will wait for the Monk’s turn. A good hit or two may finish this, however.
OOC: Evan should have used his inspiration on that Guiding Bolt--1 point away from hitting! But maybe it was meant to be for Okkar to take down the evil priest!

(( ooc love the idea ; if the monk doesn't kill it, and it doesn't flee, then next round ))
Sensing the weakness of the horror before him, Galtheon catches the look in Okkar's eye and pauses for a brief moment: The need for revenge that the Dwarf must feel echoes within him, dulled now by the years. A chance to strike down those responsible for killing his kin would have saved him much pain.

(( He waits for Okkar to shoot first ))
OOC: Okkar went this round already, using a potion on Nanoc. The monk still acts, and then the enemy, and then the players again, I believe.
Okkar's jaw is set, and he nods, meeting the eye of the elf and taking up his axe in a white knuckled grip. "Aye," he says. "But I ain't picky. You get a shot at this thing, you take it. It ain't natural. It needs to be put down."
Galtheon nods. (( I'll still delay my move until after Okkar in the party order next round, if it's alive and present -- fingers crossed Ilecerys at least knocks it down ))
OOC: We will wait for Ilecerys until tomorrow, and then we will wrap it up either way. This is very near the end, thanks to everyone here for playing thus far and seeing it through to the end.
(( ooc: Thank you! It's been excellent! Are you planning on running more...or was this too exhausting?
Edit: Great DM AND Great Players ))
OOC: Yes, all the players who stayed with the game have been excellent. I am really glad I went with the "sample dialogue" method of finding players. Players who can portray their character, and participate, both in providing mechanical contribution and actual in-game RP, are excellent, and each of you have brought just that.
Seeing an opening, Ilecerys bursts forward and strikes at the evil priest with an inspired accuracy.
+1 Club Attack: 21 Damage: 7
Flurry of Blows 1: 11 Damage: 7
Flurry of Blows 2: 11 Damage: 4
DC 12 Dex save to avoid being knocked prone on FOB hits
The club hits, and the follow up unarmed strikes go high simply because of the suddenness with which the evil cleric collapses. It appears Greedyguts is attempting to sink into the ground to flee, half conscious, when (more for descriptive purposes, mechanically the battle is over) Okkar grabs the emaciated undead dwarf by its cloak, pulls it away from the stone floor, and buries his axe in its neck. He then stomps down on the flat of the axe head, cutting the rest of the way through and beheading Greedyguts. Soon after the evil priest's body and head dissipate into chunks of gold and filth, and ancient dust.
He leaves behind his items, which includes the former foreman's keyring in a small pouch, a magical pick, a chain shirt, a shield, and a golden holy symbol of the keeper.
Okkar pants, disbelieving, as his eyes dart around. "I'm waiting for a small army of stone ghosts or gold eating grub things to come pouring out of the floors, but... it's over, isn't it?" Not long after Greedyguts' passing, you all hear a series of prolonged, inhuman shrieks from the mine below, as the Glitterdoom ends. A sense of malaise and dread lift from the place, and whether it is a spiritual event or simply the rush of victory, you all feel your hearts grow more optimistic, and The Knuckle seems much less sinister than before.
[OOC: It will depend on if Nanoc survives... Just kidding. It's been a lot of fun. Thank you DM.]
OOC: I will wrap this up, and then I will have to give it some thought. I have really enjoyed it, in part, but PBP is also a uniquely challenging format, and it is more exhausting than I had expected, compared to the prep for a distinct 2-4 hour weekly session of an IRL group. "Exhausting" is right. Also, huge kudos for the players who've helped translate descriptions into visuals, including the MUD maps!
"We should see if this lets us open the chest in the foreman's office without summoning an earth elemental. I could go a while without another epic battle. You fought well and bravely, each and every one of you. Nanoc, m'boy, you alright? That spell hit you hard. I was worried when you went down you wouldn't come back up," Okkar says.
”Be at ease, Nanoc, and let Lady Luck’s favor relieve your pain,” says Evan, channeling healing power through his holy symbol and healing up to 15 hp of Nanoc’s wounds.

Greedyguts has now taken 41 damage as the force does full damage.

Attack: 25 Damage: 14 (Slash), Bless: 3 (Extra roll, if advantage: 17)
Attack: 23 Damage: 11 (Pierce), Bless: 2 (Extra roll, if advantage: 1)
Add, if either hit: 5
Makes sense - we will wait on that.

Galtheon looks toward the pulley system, "Maybe check the mine as well, to be sure all is clear."
