The Lizardman bleeds freely as he passes out, but only a second.
“Run.” Faraday repeated clearly, not wanting to shout but hoping the sailors were okay. She grabbed the Lizardman under the arm, a hand tight to the wound, as her hair lightened suddenly. “Com’on buddy, if you stay awake you’re important enough to not die.” She encouraged, hiding them in her cloak. She knew the blood was a big problem and she had to at least get him away from the sailors, making sure her body touched as little of him as she possibly could.
Alternative? Run around at the danger smelling like dinner and hope the idiots knew to get the hell out of here before she figured out how to bargain with or kill the more beastly things.
/Just out of danger/. She told herself, hauling scaly butt quickly towards ‘away’ and a more defensive position. They’d have him by his scent, if he still lived he was getting thrown to safety.
*The Lizardman was strong, heavier yet from his garb and large tail....try your Athletics skill please. If you can't lift a 14, you can't do anything but drag him...slowly.*
A call of yowling rings out from a mile away, and it is answered by another TOO CLOSE...maybe 300 feet away from the sands you are on. Your vision shows you swamp conditions over much what you can see, with tall trees covering your view. There is a hillock with stones nearby that goes uphill for more than you can see completely, but it's away from the Swamps. Then the third Quaggoth yowling you hear from is FROM that Hillock. They are closing in.
"Pssst!" you hear from the Sailors. "Drop the Lizard, let's run for it!" you hear Lyam nervously say.

“Shut up and haul ass!” Faraday ordered. “Save yourself, I’ll find you; swim if you have to!” She said, indicating she was headed in that direction with her lizard buddy. Best case? Do a uiee once the monsters were hopefully slowed by or lost track of them in the water, then find a new stretch of shore and race to the swap where it might be too dense for the monsters to follow.
[Side note of Faraday: she’s not always gonna have rude dialogue, just when panicking/staying calm in a situation she can’t do much in. Her current main objectives is get the injured away from the Qs before coming back and accessing if she can fight them. She knows, 3 v 1, the injured would definitely be killed while she’s busy fighting. She doesn’t expect the sailors to help so doesn’t consider them in her strategy, just hopes they’ll get each other to safety if nothing else.]
You run down into the Swamp. A larger copse of trees swallowed you and your fireman-carried friend. You see two Crocodiles that nervously dive into the waves. The trees have numbers of hanging lines and closer trees. You can barely see the beach and hillock anymore. You don't hear the Quaggoths at all, but your headlong dive into the swamp may have other dangers. Please roll a Survival or Perception check. You can't see or hear the Sailors, so assuredly they took your advice.
*Survival is a Wisdom skill, but really no problem.* Faraday takes a second to scan around. She saw her path was laid with even heavier plants, nearly everywhere in the West. The North showed a strange light amid a increasingly strange plants. She could see some moving, but it was too far away to see beyond the light. Maybe Birds? The South led back to the beach, maybe to the Quaggoths. East smelled like rotting eggs....he saw a barely lit sump, swamp water were pouring into it. She saw two black-scaled Lizardmen with fierce weaponry and shields 200ft away. They haven't seen her -yet-.
“Buddy, do you have friends or enemies looking for you?” Faraday whispered, keeping them hidden with her cloak and foliage as she paused to address his wound. Edging around the Lizard man’s direction was a good idea. Them she was more sure about fighting if they went friendly. The lights she could investigate before checking the Qs, but only after she had made sure Buddy was okay.
Faraday exposed the wound, cleaning it with some water from one of her water flasks then wrapping it with the last left over cloth strips from her stint as a wizard. She tried to make the tourniquet tight to stop his bleeding, (if still passed out) then checked his pulse with her fingers and breathing dagger to check for condensation if she couldn’t already feel it.
That's called Medicine skill, try it. You can fail, which does a bit more damage. The Lizardman has been unconscious since he warned you, you have been carrying dead weight, nice job! There is a large cut over his ribs under his chain mail, and the blow to his crest is more vicious. His eye is bleeding freely and the broken crest and ear seeps slowly. This guy is on the line.
(Okay and what would medicine skill be [stats] /is how I’m playing making you upset? It can have her drop him and just go to killing/talking to the lizardmen if that’s what you’d rather, plus circling around to try attaching the Qs and finding the sailors.)
ooc:Medicine is one of Faraday's skills, Medicine+Wisdom.
I'm not at all upset. Checking skills is common. I have no desires at all beyond a good story and challenging you for Xp. As for the Lizardman, it's all on you. :>
[Also, on the subject of wisdom, should I switch a point over to it? I’m getting the feeling not having a plus there, with my bad roles, will get me very dead at some point because of the min maxing.]
I know checking skills I just don’t know them all by heart and I’m getting back into remembering how to play, it’s been a year and over since I’ve crunched these numbers. :)
For the XP bit my usual recommendation is options, definitely give options for some wacky creativity like making a fur quilt out of the Qs if she kills them or deigning/requisitioning new dagger holders that lets her be an ‘assassin’ rogue lol. Things like that I find enjoyable and in her character :) the crafting though I couldn’t find as a option unless I chose folk hero which she isn’t, but she would have been trying to learn leather working and stuff like that from how often she tried to monster-hunter her gear and to turn a profit/new souvenir.
[Without patching her character it’s just non proficient and Wis 10, she’s gonna hurt him isn’t she? :(
*again questions modifying this solo character to me more adapted to solo survival- - -wouldn’t rudimentary medicine count as an extended survival skill? Theoretically?*
ooc:I see the upgrade...I think your char won't be without other PCs for very much longer. The red dice are touched by your mouse and then you link the dice to me.
Ah, Survival is not Medicine, one is all the long leather and bone Weapons of creatures you kill, the other can save people of Deaths door If you have Medical Kits or a quit +1 Dagger (They will complain how you did some Frankenstein shit with deer-string.)
Though there wasn't much IC stuff, we'll pick it up on Friday. This is our week now. 🥳

(Unless this ruins things/gets them killed)

[What would a survival check be? It’s one of my proficiencies I know that.]
[Perception check roll 15]

(I think this would fix it, also hadn’t realized it didn’t select the survival skill.)

See you! :) *cheers*
Also, if you mean on Roll20 it locked me out of the game, I don’t understand if you did that or what’s wrong with it. :(
