An equivalent time would be like, ~3:30ish in the morning. You're about 5.5 hours off from having to start rolling for exhaustion.
When you descended the shaft, Usul would have had a pretty decent idea of what direction the tunnel was going - roughly northwest, especially as it began to curve. The distance he didn't keep track of as well, so he's not quite sure where you are relative to the city, he knows this new larger tunnel runs southwest to northeast. He would figure you were either somewhere in the Council or Vault ward currently - and that northeast would eventually take you into the bay((Anyone is free to do a nature check to see if you think you'd run into water or not)).
Following the advice of Usul's trusty dagger, you begin to follow the tunnel southwest. As you walk by, there are no other entrances to smaller tunnels like the one you just left. It's about a fifteen minute walk before you see the tunnel end in another T-intersection, going southeast to northwest. Those with darkvision can see that this tunnel curves slightly in either direction.
As they reach the second intersection, Velyra lets out a sigh. "I'm getting the sense that these tunnels will stretch all throughout the city. This is quickly turning into a maze."
Holding his hand over the globe to cover most of the light, Kal comes to a stop beside Velyra. "We could always come back another day. Perhaps with a plan to map some of this out?" He says, glancing over at Silthras.
Once more Silthras tries to detect of there is a draft blowing as he looks up at the roof, considering options.
He opens his pack, and the bag it contains, pulling out the broom. "I am wondering if some faster scouting might be useful, flying near the roof." Again he looks down at Usul. "I would likely see dangers before they saw me, but traps would be another matter. Usul would be harder to spot."
Usul stifles a yawn but keeps his eyes out as they walk, saying, "All our years here and we never knew of these tunnels! They could almost move an army down here!"Then looking at the broom adds, trying to keep his excitement to a minimum, "Flying would be faster! But... if we don't find something soon it might be good to come back tomorrow..."
Silthras nods, "Agreed. Only a few minutes cautiously out, then quickly back would be my advice. And..." he points at Usul's recently aquired bag. "...perhaps leave that behind."
He stares up and down the large tunnel, "It would be good to find another way in and out; I fear the one we just used may disappear."
Handing the broom to Usul he explains the keywords and then adds, "They may have magical alarms; so speed is important. I can come with you, or wait here. But you will be faster and stealthier without me. The choice is yours."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Usul nods and says, "Perhaps we can leave the bag somewhere we can have it watched?"Then, snapping his fingers, Dib appears on Silthras' shoulder. Usul says, "I'll go alone just to see what I can find... If Dib disappears from your shoulder I've run into trouble." He then hops on the broom and after getting a quick feel for it does a spin and heads ((1 = NW, 2 = SE :: 2)).
As Usul leaves, Silras adds "We'll move up the corridor a little after you, just in case someone else comes down the narrow tunnel."
(( Suggest we move 100' up the tunnel in the direction that Usul is exploring. We can start a short rest on the opposite side... just in case Usul takes longer. ))
Usul gets on the broom and flies down the southeastern tunnel, quickly disappearing out of sight. The stale air whips past as he soars through the subterranean space, the rock walls around flying by in a blur. About three and a half minutes in(roughly a mile away), you streak past another large tunnel. Like the one you came from, it forms a T intersection, heading back inward. After flying for about another minute and a half, Usul doesn't see anything else, so he turns back ground.
Another five minutes go by and he flies past his friends, checking out the other side of the tunnel now. Unsurprisingly, he finds the same result. After another mile there is yet another T intersection.
((To recap. A mile out in both directions there are T intersections. Large tunnels. Same style, arranged perpendicular to the direction of this now obviously somewhat circular tunnel system.))
Silthras' shoulders sag. He asks Usul to describe what he saw in detail, asking if the curves are consistent or varying, and if the intersecting tunnels were similarly curved. He then tries to make a rough sketch, looking for a pattern to the shapes.
When he is done, he looks up. "It's too big for us to explore without a rest. Perhaps we should climb back up and rest in their safe house?"

Silthras snorts, stares at the dagger, and shrugs, "OK." With a brief glance at the narrow tunnel.from which they came he turns west.
Before he moves on he says to Kal, almost as a reflex, "Wrap that light in your hand so only a sliver lights the ground."

"Shall we consult the almighty dagger again?"

@DM: How high is the roof? Is it like a big tube? And looking up the smaller offshoots was anything visible?
20 feet. It is like a big tube.
What smaller offshoots?
My mistake, i misread!

Silthras Perception: 10
Again trying to check for a draft, Silthras doesn't feel a thing. The air down here feels thick and stagnant.
Silthras curses quietly then asks, "Is it just me, or is the literally no air flow down here?"
As he waits for a response, "Or we could both fly, though it would be slower."
Usul stifles a yawn but keeps his eyes out as they walk, saying, "All our years here and we never knew of these tunnels! They could almost move an army down here!" Then looking at the broom adds, trying to keep his excitement to a minimum, "Flying would be faster! But... if we don't find something soon it might be good to come back tomorrow..."
