A while back I made a Subclass for Fighter inspired by the Gunbreaker Class from FFXIV. People seemed to like it but it was one of the first Homebrew subclasses I made and honestly not that great imo. The features didn't even work with D&D Beyond Character Sheets. So I recently went back and fixed the issues and streamlined the design a bit. Here's Version 2.0.
If you've tried the Subclass before please try out the new version and let me know what you think. If not, then hopefully you try it for the first time and have fun, and I'd love to hear feedback from you to. I think this new version captures what I was trying to create originally a whole lot better.
I only have one real issue with this, and it is this feature:
Level 15: Magic Reload
You have learned how to resupply quickly in an emergency. As a Bonus Action you can expend a spell slot of level 2 or higher to instantly replenish all of your expended cartridges. Alternatively, if you do not have a spell slot to expend, an ally within 15 feet of you may use their Reaction to do so for you. You can benefit from this feature once before needing to finish a Long Rest to benefit from it again.
You give the player a way to expend spell slots to instantly reload....but the neither the base class nor the subclass grant the player spell slots. Half of this feature is completely useless, as you can only reload if your ally is willing to expend their spell slot.
