Can you use Tiny Servant on Hand Cross Bow so they can fire themselves?
Basically, yes. You might need a stick or something, since it sprouts arms and legs in a fashion determined by your DM, so it might not be able to reach its own trigger, but with a stick to provide leverage, it could physically fire itself. It almost certainly couldn't reload itself and it definitely wouldn't be proficient with the attack, but it could certainly fire itself without proficiency provided it was loaded.
This is a spell *hugely* up to DM discretion. One could argue that it has the given stats and no other attacks or features. But I'd say yes, you can do this.
Do note that ranged minions are really, really good. But this is just one critter, and crossbows are pretty pricey as far as objects go. I think it's fine.
The point of this spell is to get clever. I think it goes against the spirit of it to go to the internet for ideas. :P
I run ideas by the community to see whats what LoL
Final form would be tiny servant crossbows and Flock of Familiars for 3 to 5 "ranged minions"
If i got the mechanics right since the servants attacking so it doesn't break the Imps/Sprites invisibility
Again, gonna be DM-dependent for a number of reasons. 1 - Pact of the Chain only works with Find Familiar, RAW. Not Flock of Familiars. Easy to understand the intention, but still, that's RAW. 2 - Flock of Familiars is from the Lost Laboratory of Kwalish, which your DM might not include as a source. 3 - Even if they do, the spell is found within that adventure -- not as a character build option, but as a form of treasure you can find. 4 - RAW, a creature can't occupy another creature's space, so the imps are gonna have a hard time carrying the Tiny Servants. Again, kinda stupid, but still.
true and agree on 2-4 though for 1, wouldn't need pact of the chain since the attack is from the servant rather than the familiar itself, familiars action is to reload

Well, you mentioned imps, sprites and invisibility.
Without delving into the more general rules (about combat, about adventuring, etc), I suppose it's RAW that a cat can reload a crossbow. I think you're gonna have a hard time getting that past a DM, though. ;P
Actually, if we're going to be that much of a pedant (why not, it's fun), RAW no one can load a crossbow except the person using it to attack, and they can't do it outside of making an attack with it. If someone hands you an unloaded crossbow, you can't load it unless you're shooting it. Brilliant.

4 is particularly solvable unless the DM has banned people from riding horses in their campaign world. Creatures can ride other creatures subject to some caveats that won't matter here, since the tiny servants are a) tiny and b) consenting.
You don't even need the imps or the hand crossbows. You can arm your tiny servants (which can have been anything to begin with, so e.g. bells) with magic stone - have three of them ride on your shoulders and fling the stones, and they'll even be flung with proficiency, since spell attacks always include the attacker's proficiency bonus.
Need no, want "hybrid" minions with an attack action (tiny servant action) that doesn't break invisibility (Familiar concentration) and be commanded at a mile range (Flock of Familiars) , yes LoL
Though on a single familiar with 3 tiny servant bracelets that can throw the stones and Dragon Breath that doesn't break invisibility commanded at 100 feet is pretty broken too

Got existential if an sentient cross bow would know how to innately fire itself or if the hands needed to pull the trigger
so possible a familiar carries the tiny servant cross bow which attacks and the familiar reloads (pact of the chain maybe attack too)?

I don't wish to derail the thread, but it seems to me there are other ways to auto-fire a crossbow if you don't need to reload it.

Oh?
Set up some crossbows with a trigger mechanism. Cast Prestidigitation to light a candle and it burns through a string that sets off the trigger(s).
There are tons of bobby trap mechanisms that could be activated by first level spells or cantrips. We studied a "few" in the army.

At DM's discretion of course
I think if a DM allowed this, "discretion" isn't the word I'd use to describe it. ;P
