Hello. In the interest of making sorcerers a bit more desirable, I have done a few mods to the class for my homebrew version. One thing I cannot figure out how to do is to make D&D beyond give the player more metamagic selections. For instance, I want them to have 3 or 4 metamagic selections at level 3, not just 2. I don't want to make up more metamagic descriptions, just allow the character to choose more of the ones already available at certain levels.
Is this possible within the sub-class homebrew mechanics? I couldn't figure out how to do it, other than just throwing the player some flavor text saying "pick more" that they will have to keep track of on their own.
Thanks! I saw that the last version of this topic of discussion was 2 years old, so thought I'd try a new one.
The easiest way might be to give the (sub)class the Metamagic Adept feat as a class feature, or a homebrewed version of that. I don't know exactly how to do that though, might try a few things later.

Did anything ever come of this? I made a copy of the Metamagic Adept feat and none of the settings seem to have any reference to the actual list of existing Metamagic options. But for some reason, choosing that Homebrew Copy_of_Metamagic_Adept feat in character builder still shows all options.
This leads me to believe that we indeed can't homebrew new Metamagic options because it's embedded in the system and not exposed to users.

There's no "create metamagic" option in the homebrew section and there is no separate metamagic page under Game Rules, so I assume that's correct. We could create a homebrew feat with a bunch of text I suppose, but inserting anything in the list of metamagic options seems impossible.
