I can't for the life of me find a way to change my party's level in the Encounter builder. I've already built a handful of encounters for my campaign but since then, my players have leveled up. I've changed their levels on the sheet and in the character build section. It has taken everywhere except the encounters? Any idea's?
Oh also, is there a way to edit the enemies names. I have a number of ruffians and would like to keep track of them. Like Ruffian 1, Ruffian 2, so on and so forth. Since they are all the same, tracking them on my Roll20 map is difficult. Anyway, thanks...
In the encounter editor, select "Manage Characters" of each encounter - this is where you set the level of the party (or update the party level based on the selected characters).
Right? That's what I thought. However, when I go there I can only "Hide Character" or "View Sheet". The character sheet is correct. I guess it really doesn't matter, but I think it adjusts the CR and the rewards a bit.
The encounter builder keeps the player level at the level they were when you added them. If your want to update their levels, you'll need to remove the party from the encounter and then re add them. This will update all the levels
Yeah, I run into this too, sometimes, when they wander around some and do things before reaching my "planned" encounters It's interesting sometimes how adjusting the party level can sometimes take your Deadly encounter to Hard or in rare cases, Medium. When that happens to mine, if it's an important encounter, I will usually edit and add a couple more trash monsters (8 minions instead of 6 kind of thing) to rebalance it. Some level jumps are BIG, too, so keep that in mind. 3-4 is pretty big with the ASI and 4-5 can be huge as most martials get their 2nd attack, which can be a huge shift in power.

Ok, that's something I haven't tried. I'll give it a shot. Thank you!
