all right, but I am playing with noob players who have mostly never played before, which would you recommend getting rid of, the sorcerer or the wizard.
Speaking as a brand-new player myself who currently has a Sorcerer and Wizard, I'd say the Wizard. The idea of keeping a spellbook and 'buying' spells might be confusing (I know it's frying my brains a bit!). The Sorcerer feels a lot more straightforward.
Is a good 1st lvl party composition, a rogue, a sorcerer, a wizard, a barbarian, a cleric, and a ranger? I am using it for LMOP.

Pretty standard, but I'd probably swap the sorcerer or the wizard for a bard, for a bit of added support from the start.

Sorcerer is definitely more straightforward than the Wizard, so ditch the wizard of everyone is new.
