I'm currently playing a monk who uses a quarterstaff, and earlier today I had the idea to come up with a list of names of all of his different unarmed strikes and quarterstaff strikes. I've got a whole bunch of basic things picked out for unarmed strikes, mundane attacks like "Downward Elbow Strike" and "Spinning Backfist" etc, but I mainly want to come up with a list of names that are a reference to classic beat-em ups and 2P fighting games (double dragon, street fighter, etc). The unarmed strikes aren't the issue.
The trouble i'm having is coming up with names for strikes or techniques that use a quarterstaff, and i'd love to get some suggestions.
Bring The Horse To Water - brace the quarterstaff (think: set spear vs charge) and pull the target's head into it.
Sweep The Leaves - low strike to the shin or foot, could also be a shove (trip) attack.
5-foot punch - straight thrust into the stomach, playing on the name of the 5-inch punch from Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee in da house!)
Waki Gamae Kamae Kata (Wah-Kee Gah-May Ka-May Ka-Ta) - a strike from holding the quarterstaff overhead with both hands at the bottom. Best when done at the end of a charge or after defending for a turn (to charge up!)
Carry Water - execute a fireman's carry maneuver on the quarterstaff against a prone enemy, using both rotational force and adding your own weight to maximize the blow.
Carric Aquissar, elven wannabe artist in his deconstructionist period (Archfey warlock) Lan Kidogo, mapach archaeologist and treasure hunter (Knowledge cleric) Mardan Ferres, elven private investigator obsessed with that one unsolved murder (Assassin rogue) Xhekhetiel, halfling survivor of a Betrayer Gods cult (Runechild sorcerer/fighter)
Eh there, gang, hope everyone is doing well.

Humorous suggestions are welcomed.

What about the classic combo of Ho, Ha Ha!, Guard, Turn, Parry, Dodge, Spin, Ha and Thrust?
