Hello I'm a new player and wanted to see if there was a way to make this idea work, other than DM's discretion.
I would like to create a paladin with a soldier background, whose allies were massacred in front of him. This causes him to now have PTSD and whenever he sees an ally go down, he goes into an uncontrollable rage/bloodlust. Kind of like when grog fought Raishan in season 2 of Vox Machina. I really like this idea as a role play aspect more than trying to make an OP character. Any suggestions on making it work?
I mean, this seems simple enough: RP it. You don't need to have any new abilities or such to have a character expierience extreme emotional responses to extreme situations.
If you feel like you do need something to give it a bit more umph just do a one level dip into barbarian to get rage.
