I am truly ambivalent around the transformation section. Like it writes about Ritual of the Dreads a well guarded secrets... It should either be on the Dungeon Master section or given some meat around it because it is making me crazy. Like how does one truly turn into a lich?
A lichantrope, that, it is easy. Bite or curse item.
But a Lich, it is often set as a very epic venture quite gruesome too. Although, Archlich, a good side very steep sacrifice still non-existent and yet could have brought something crimsoned for the Good side. Imagining an Archon that gives such possibility for a champion to fight fire with fire as they say. It speaks of boons that I know could not work, but I mean, I got not clues over how to handle it as it is too lore rich a lich to just say; Bah, I cast Wish spell and boom, got it nor I stumble into a tomb and a voice gift me the boon and boom a lich... Besides, I read in some places it requires a 7th level spell slot, and yet not present are the real pre-requisite for it. It feels like it lacks a whole section for mechanics-wise ideas to the different awesome transformation to help players and DMs. I know the internet has plenty, but still, I am at a lost as there is also a lich form for the druids from another source.
Edit1: As I feel like my post is merely complaining, I wish to finish on a note around, any solid DMs out there that has links around the different transformations mechanics, please send these my ways as I play with AIs and complete gaps by myself. Thank you for reading me.
I think the mechanics presented are solid. What you seem to be asking for is narrative. How one becomes a Lich in your story is very much up to you. You could be cursed by an item, read a forbidden book, condemned by the BBEG to share in his eternal torment. Have it happen to a PC after death. This is really a playground for ideas.

Huh. You are right. The only thing that made me bug a little is more around Ritual of the Dreads or something, which made me solely focus on finding "that" answer, but in which it was merely a lore, not meant to hold the mechanic answer. Thank you for this respectful insight.

It sounds like an invitation to come up with your own weird rituals.

I had to use this link to help me better grasp a transformation logic; https://www.dndbeyond.com/posts/1694-transcending-mortality-playing-as-a-lich-in-d-d#Becoming_a_Lich_Requires_Dungeon_Master_Approval
