Put any more dangers around this town and nobody will want to live there!
You could add a deserted mine that a young child got lost in... easy to make increasingly harder encounters.
A haunted house where you have to find a book that has the recipe for a cure ailing the villagers. You can force direction in the house with locks and secret passages and such.
One of your childhood friends has been charged with murder. You must find the real criminal.
People are mysteriously getting sick, you must find the source of the illness. Could be contaminated water from a group of trolls living upstream.
A house was burned down killing a family, the dad is under suspicion. The father is under the spell of a vampire.
An alchemist hires you to find reagents for a potion they are making which is actually a potion of vileness for which he is giving to his patron who is trying to become a lich.
People have been missing going into the lake. Investigate and gather the villagers to help kill the aboleth / frogemoths etc...
I will be running a one shot, with the potentle to have more rounds in the clip.
I will have my players choose from some tasks my "mayor" type guy has for them. Sort of a choose your own adventure book style.
So far I have....
Kolbalds raiding traveling merchants, but they are just trying too heal a sick dieting dragon.
A small camp of former slave goblins that are being harassed by bandits wanting the goblins valuables
A important lost cartografer that is acualy trapped in the home of a sleeping pheonix
So far the area has a town, nearby mountains with a sick dragon, and a pheonix in it, a camp of goblins and some bandits, and a lake.
Any more ideas from you guys? Your all really creative.
