Simply put: I want to create a magic sword that does 2d8 base damage (alongside a +2 bonus.)
I've tried copying a greatsword, then adding a modifier with the "Melee Weapon Attack: Slashing" label, and set the dice to 2d8; it doesn't seem to change anything.
You can make customization changes on the character sheet, just click on the weapon then 'customize'. Admittedly it will not change the damage dice to 2d8.

You could get close to the same result with a +2 attack bonus and 2d6+4 damage. Alternatively, you can probably make a longsword that does +1d8 damage.

Is there a way to do this yet?

I suspected as much. Thanks.
