I've started a campaign with two folks from sweden. We play over discord, using a bot to roll dice. It's nice and it works better than I ever thought it would. Until I need a map. I can describe a room sure, and I note take where they are in relation to other things if needed, but last time I had a large sewer map. And ended up changing the whole map saying that, there were no walls there. And pasted the map into the chat so they could somewhat tell me where they were going. It was a mess. While I know roll20 exists, none of the players have it. And neither do I. I've almost every rule book or monster book. I just need the adventurers. I don't want to go spending money again on something I can litterly stand up, walk 4 feet, grab it and return to my chair and use. So I was hoping if there were some free live drawing program. Just so I can give them a general layout, showing what I mean. Maybe for some combat stuff, but mostly for when they are going around loot, finding out what is there, scouting, etc. Thanks in advance! ^^
Roll20 is a web-app, you don't need to buy or download anything. It's free to use at its base level, which is more than good enough to get started on. I used roll20 free for over a year before deciding to give subscribing a shot.

IT'S FREE?! Well, can you have none specific tokens on the battlefield? I have Volo's guide. And I use a quickling. Can I just use a token that's plan with a "Q" letter in the middle or just completely blank red tokens for it? While a lot of 5e is free, there is also a large part that isn't, and I would like to be able to at least show my players that, "Here is the quickling rogue. and here is the bad dude who has killed your mother". Just so I don't use a bat token for the bbeg. Would seem a lot less dramatic. But nevertheless, thank you for clearing up that it has been FREE THIS WHOLE TIME! xD
it's free to use at the basic level which gives you the least storage (I think a gig) and no bells or whistles like dynamic lighting, self-revealing fog of war, or scripts.
You can upload your own maps and tokens to use, or buy them from the marketplace. You can use whatever tokens you want, and the avrae bot on the DDB discord can generate tokens for you with the !token MONSTER command (eg !token goblin)

I don't know much about Discord but thanks man! I'll talk with them about it! You might just have saved so much trouble! Thanks! ^^
