When a fighter gets to 5th level it earns an extra attack on its attack action. Warlocs can can use their eldrich invocations to gain an extra attack through magical abilities. Would this give the combo 3 attacks on their action. Since one is from a magical ability?
Man, took me a bit to find it. As per the Class Features section of the Multiclassing rules in Chapter 6 of the PHB: "Similarly, the warlock's eldritch invocation Thirsting Blade doesn't give you additional attacks if you also have Extra Attack."
Essentially, Thirsting Blade becomes worthless the minute you pick up Extra Attack. Wizards went way, way out of their way to make sure that extra attacks beyond the first were very hard to pick up and did not ever stack. To the best of my knowledge nothing other than a fighter can ever get more than two main-hand weapon attacks a turn without a feat (Polearm Muenster, sort of), a specific magical weapon (Scimitar of Speed), or a spell (Haste).
EDIT: Ironically, the only exception is the warlock's native Eldritch Blast, which acts like a 1d10 Force-damage ranged weapon when enhanced with Agonizing Blast and which can generate up to 4 attacks per turn. There's a reason it's considered to be by far the best combat/damaging cantrip in the game.
Yes, WOTC made this a specific nerf to Multiclass builds: Extra Attacks are explicitly nonstackable. This was a bit of a shock to me several years ago (when 5e was a youngun') and I tried to recreate a powerful PC with in the new ruleset. That PC's Fighter 3/Barbarian 2/Ranger 12 build was hindered greatly by the removal of Iterative attacks.
At least one other third attack situation is the berserker barbarian, which can Frenzy for an extra attack while raging (this is after the barbarian gets their second attack at fifth level).

Thank you all very much
