I submit that the greatest D&D setting/campaign is War of the Burning Sky and I think it would be a great time to get it on D&D Beyond if they update it 2024 (and <gasp> maybe do a remaster like Odyssey of the Dragonlords is about to do?)
Here's why it's great: -It's an iconic, tolkenesque, default setting that twists things just enough to be fresh. There's an emperor, but he's an evil half-orc. There's a fey forest, but it eternally is burning. ect... -It's an epic war. The PCs not only can effect battles and politics (with a couple mass combat episodes), but also address the local populations effected by it. -It's a level 1-20 campaign. A one stop shop for your game - no cobbling together other modules to get you to level 5 or figure out what to do next at level 10. -It's a big campaign in a small setting. What does that mean? You get to visit every region on the map. No more missing out seeing Thay because it's a Waterdeep campaign -It's its own setting. story, and lore. No NPCs with plot armor, no legacy canon to worry about. That guy on the cover? Yeah you can kill him this time. And that twenty year D&D veteran you're running this for won't know more about the world than you.
So anyway, this is my formal request to get War of the Burning Sky onto D&D Beyond. I hear it's invite only, so I figure I'd start here. It's my default D&D world.
Does anyone else like this campaign? And there's a free players guide that describes the hook and world if you haven't heard of it. Just search on "War of the Burning Sky Players Guide 5e" (not sure if links are allowed here).
