Hey, I have some questions that I would love to get other players opinions on. In a campaign I'm playing with friends we are building a school, that is essentially training the students to become members of my guild. Here's some base line ideas I have:
Ages 0-6; called 'hatchlings,' taught stealth, spying, persuasion, performance, history and investigation.
Ages 7-12; called "fledglings,' taught acrobatics, athletics, deception, sleight of hand, medicine, nature/animal handling
Ages 13-16; called 'sparrows,' taught specialized weaponry, arcana and other forms of magic if possible
Ages 17-20; students become apprentices, based off of their studies/skills from ages 0-16
Age 21: students become members of the Guild.
What I need help with is what races/classes should I recruit to teach which areas? In your opinion as a player or as a DM, which classes/races would fit best with what is being taught as each age group (excluding ages 17-21)? I am at a loss on which class or race I should put with which subject, and I can't start the school without these details. Any input would be appreciated!
Also, if you are a DM or a player that likes this school idea, feel free to use it in one of your campaigns, and you can always message me for any other ideas that I come up with for this school!
Monks should definitely be involved. Probably Way of the four elements. Possibly have other classes hired as teachers, but the main people should be monks.
As ages are bird related, I would consider Aarakocra and Kenku, along with the monk races Human, Shifters, Halflings, and Wood Elves.
I've done this. My players grew up in a training grounds that was designed to get them into the adventurers guild. They were selected and graduated to join the guild and they were sent in a mission to prove their worth. They failed and caused a worldly problem that they are facing.
I'd say wizards make good teachers. Not just of magic, mind you. Wizards' skills at research and study mean given enough prep time I'm sure they could suitably teach like, military history or the theory aspect of fencing etc.

Keep it simple.
