I am looking for a list of items that change or improve over time. I know the Wildemount content has a bunch but I was trying to find others through out the other content and I was finding it hard to comb through everything. Is there a list? Or is it only the Wildemount content that has a specific list of changing items?
The four Rings of Elemental Command all grow in power after defeating the appropriate type of elemental too. But items like that are rare.
Having items grow too much might break the attunement mechanic though. It’s designed to keep PCs from having too many high power magical items and having items grow in power can result in the items doing what more than 3 core attunement magic items do. So be cautious that you can handle PCs with the magic items that you design.
Thanks Tim! I forgot about those and I appreciate the feed back.
Yea I am always nervous about making things too OP. So I am now trying to gather some basis of what would break game. Luckily itll be for an off shoot of the main campaign for when someone is not available so there is room for error.
A magic item that changes from a +1 to a +2 and then a +3 isn’t over powered by the way. A magic item that ends up being more powerful than a Staff of the Archmage combined with Robes of the Archmagi on the other hand .... is over powered.

There are not other items that do what the Vestiges of Divergence and Arms of the Betrayers do in other official books

Thanks so much! Looks like its home brewing time :)
Thanks for the tip. Will definitely look into that.
On DMSGuild there is a supplement called Ancestral Weapons that has what you want.

It's not official content though, so not sure if that matters to you.
For official content, in the Theros book there are a few artifacts that grow as you become more pious to specific gods.
