At the moment, my favorite homebrews are the practical ones. Like, a wondrous item that grants an AC bonus, that the character sheet makes active whenever the Mage Armor spell is on.
That's pretty cool. I'm not comfortable enough with all that. I just make custom enemies and weapons for the encountersl for my campaigns? Life this one
I have a tendency to like to play as races that aren't playable from the sourcebooks and I like that I don't have to spend the time homebrewing it if someone else already did. I also really enjoy seeing other people's monster brews. Whether its an original creation, modifications to an existing monster, or something taken from a video game or other piece of media. There are some really awesome monsters from the Witcher people have made as well as some neat ranger and fighter Witcher subclasses.
I've made some content myself and while I don't think it's the greatest, my players and my DMs group chat think they're neat.
Yeah like the title says.

Also I like using the create magic item to modify Players Handbook weapons in order to represent certain nonmagical historical weapons.
For my own use, I like using the homebrew features to create races and backgrounds for my campaign.

The Fiend-Vanquisher dagger is flavorful. The DM in me likes how it lets me monitor its effect by deciding whether to divulge a true name.

https://www.dndbeyond.com/races/462883-vulpine (one of my friends wanted to play as a disney robin hood like character so I created this)
I also make magic items to loot from important/higher level bad guys–– again may not be the greatest or most balanced, but my players enjoy them
Dragons? In my dungeon? More likely than you think.

Lol that is exactly why I threw that in there lol.

I really like the Vulpine idea. As a kid I loved the Robin hood cartoon movie. I like the idea of there being an entire race.
