Hey folks! I've been working pretty diligently on a vampire homebrew that I'm very fond of. It's based on the 5e monster guide of vampires, with obvious tweaks for balance. What's more, I added a bunch of the more typical vampire properties to it, like needing to feed on blood to survive.
I've currently got a character with this race and things are going pretty well, it seems pretty balanced, but she just hit level 5 and I'm getting the sensation her claw and bite are too strong. I want to of course have strength in those things, because well...she's a vampire, and I want her to excel in spots a vampire should excel. But! I also want it to be balanced for combat so DMs are less likely to cringe because as we all know, vamps are hard to balance :"C
So any ideas or thoughts would be great, especially from DMs who have practice in balancing homebrews! All I ask is please please please don't flame me for wanting a vampire class, I've worked SO HARD on this and really don't want to get insulted for it :c What's more, I'd rather not change any of the special vampire-based skills/abilities, but maybe tweak them to be more balanced (whether that be weaker OR stronger). However, I'm super open to ideas for things I could add! Because as vampires level up they appear to get a lot less than other races do, so. Yeah! Thanks!
A couple of things to note: I'm FAIRLY CERTAIN everything in the homebrew should be apparent on her character, however, I do think I've not put in the part found in the monster manual that boosts her STR / DEX / CON stat. The book of course calls to boost these all to 18, but obviously, that's a bit much so my DM and I rolled her stats normally, then gave a +2 to all of those. There might be a couple of things like this, feel free to point them out if you have questions!
Thanks, everyone!
