I recently saw a nature video where they talked about the fact that flies will actually age faster and potentially die if they perceive dead flies around them. It inspired the following spell, and I was looking to get feedback.
Necromony
LEVEL: 2nd
CASTING TIME: 1 Action
RANGE/AREA: 20 ft
COMPONENTS: V, S, M
DURATION: 8 Hours
SCHOOL: Necromancy
ATTACK/SAVE: WIS Save
DAMAGE/EFFECT: Psychic
This spell capitalizes on a creature’s innate fear of its own demise, heightening that fear and generating psychological trauma. The spellcaster must target a corpse. Whenever a creature moves within 30 ft or ends its movement there, it must make a Wisdom saving throw against the caster’s spellsave DC or take 1d6 psychic damage. After any creature has made three such saves (pass or fail), this instance of the spell ceases to effect that creature.
When you cast this spell, you can designate any creatures you choose, and the spell ignores them.
I like the spell concept. However, some aspects may need to be adjusted.
The spell currently lasts for 8 hours, which is quite long for a 1st level spell. You might consider reducing the duration or making it concentration-based, which would require the caster to maintain focus on the spell to keep it active.
The spell currently increases the number of saves required to end the spell when cast with higher-level slots. Instead, you might consider increasing the damage or range of the spell with higher-level slots, which is more typical for damage-dealing spells.
My base of comparison was Cordon of Arrows, which is also 8 hours. I thought making it a level lower balanced out the need for bodies over arrows, but as I think about it, those might arguably be more plentiful than arrows. I was thinking of trying to avoid the scaling being like other spells, for variety, but if I am trying to balance with Cordon of Arrows, I should probably just not have it scale.

Ok, I edited it to make those changes, and made the wording a little closer to Cordon of Arrows, for clarity.
Good !
