Hello, Not sure if this is user error or a bug but I have an interesting situation. I have created a series of magic items that my groups artificer can craft that can be used to cast spells using charges, in this example the cantrip firebolt and fireball. This item worked fine until he crafted a second one. Now it seems that the second Item could never be used since charges are expended only from the first item, regardless of which one is clicked in the UI. Once the first item is out of charges, neither of them can work. If that does not make sense here is a quick recording: Youtube
For now my player is able to manually manipulate the charges but I would like to figure out what I did wrong here. Thanks in advance!
This is a known issue even with official magic items that use charges, like when someone tries to equip 2 Wands of Fireballs. Is there maybe another person they could give the second item to?

Interesting. I think it’s easier for the player to manage their own charges but I will give them your suggestion and let them choose. After work I am going to try to mess with different versions of the item to see if that does anything. But it might just be easier to create a duplicate magic item so they are separate entities.
thanks for confirming it is not “user error” 😊
