So I was reading a Homebrew a fan posted somewhere else (please don't ask for a link, I want to keep this within the rules of the forum as possible) and I came across something that could possibly make the Great weapon master and Sharpshooter feats more interesting than just the -5 attack +10 damage rules as written. Instead they should just forgo their proficiency bonus, and add double your proficiency bonus to the damage. To me that seems better. It allows it to be useful at lower levels while it nerfs it enough it doesn't dominate. Plus it scales so you looks like it growing so at later levels it can hit with bigger force. What are your thoughts on this change?
