A while a back I decided to do a steampunk heavy game, unfortunately D&D didn’t have quite the right esthetic for a low magic higher tech play through. While there is a lot of good homebrew ideas out there, high levels of magic saturate the D&D realm. So I did something drastic. I went and looked at other gaming systems, most noticeably Fate (Dresden version). I found that I liked a lot of the mechanics in that system, but others left me going meh. As a result i’m trying to combine what I like about both D&D (combat and math heavy mechanics), and the Fate system ( heavy roleplay and more wiggle room for world building). If anyone has tips and tricks on how to mesh two different systems, I would appreciate it.
