Hi, I'm making a Monk subclass where the monk's unarmed strikes deal 1 additional damage. For this, I'm making a new action called "Empowered Strike" and I've got it on the action builder screen that it is affected by martial arts (for the dice roll), that the ability score type is Dex (for the modifier), and clarified it's an unarmed weapon attack. This makes the damage equal to a regular unarmed strike. But because I want to make it deal 1 damage more than normal, I want the dmg modifier to be their Dex modifier + 1. I've tried just adding 1 in the "fixed value" section of the action builder but no luck. Is there any way to do this?
No need for a new action. If I'm correct, adding a modifier with Damage as the modifier type and Unarmed Attacks as the modifier subtype should let any number you put in fixed value be added to all unarmed attacks. If that doesn't work, try Bonus --> Unarmed Attacks instead. Remember that character sheets can take as long as half an hour before updating after you hit save on a homebrew, so be patient.
