I had an idea of Homebrewing a Race/Species that has a Racial Trait that provides a Trait to any living thing it creates (or maybe a more vague term like "entity" since I want it to also work on Echo Knights and Trickster Cleric duplicates). My original inspiration was thinking how good it would be able to provide something like Relentless Endurance to a summon or an Echo Knight echo.
I don't think I want it to be one specific trait though (like Relentless Endurance) and probably either pick from a list of a few or roll to pick from a table each time you create/summon an entity. What suggestions do people have for good Racial Traits to populate this list with? I want it to be existing traits though, not Homebrewed stuff. I'd love any ideas that would do fun and interesting stuff when utilised by a summon or echo or duplicate (or any other thing a player can create that isn't an item/object).
Not sure I really get your line of thinking. Since it's picking from Racial Traits, it makes the most sense to me for it to be a Racial Trait itself. It just doesn't feel like a magic item effect to me. I don't want it on a class/subclass since I specifically want it available in multiple different scenarios. I want it to be available for Druids summoning animals or Wizards summoning demons or Clerics invoking Trickery duplicates, and I don't want to require you multiclass just to get the effect from whatever class I stick it in.
I also have possible plans to split it into 2 effects basically (but not sure if I will do this). At level 1 you'd just get one of the effects from the list for yourself, and then at a slightly higher level (possibly level 5) the effect would extend to any of your summons/creations. It feels best being inherent and built into the race, rather than forcing the player to take a certain number of levels in a single class or subclass just to get the full intended effect of the feature/trait.

A race that can pick any racial feature they want for themselves is to good. And it also pretty much limits them to certain classes to get the most out of their racial features.
A magic item that can grant extra bonuses to summons is easier to homebrew and balance than a new race.
But I'm not letting them pick any racial feature they want. Like I said, I'm making a cultivated list of what I think are traits that will work best for summons. I even said I might do it as a table that you roll on each time (kind of like the Wild Magic Barbarian's ability).
I also don't really mind about it basically catering to certain classes while excluding others; this is specifically for our own personal campaign and I want the entire race's society and culture to be built around this idea of summoning. I don't care about it being reusable in lots of different campaigns for lots of different classes and builds.

Seems more like a magic item or class feature type of thing.
leaning towards a magic item. Would be easier to do then a subclass or racial feature.
