I am recreating a private homebrew of the Abyssal Tiefling released in Unearthed Arcana 11 - That Old Black Magic. The "Abyssal Fortitude" class feature is as follows:
"Abyssal Fortitude. Your hit point maximum increases by half your level (minimum 1)."
I have attempted to increase "Hit Points per Level" by both 0.5 and 1/2; neither were acceptable values. I then tried increasing the hp directly using the race feature, but that did not work. Is there a way to implement this class feature with homebrew tools or should I add a note that the hp should be added manually?
I think the only way to do this is to add a different "Abyssal Fortitude" for every odd-numbered level that grants +1. So at level 1 you'd get 1, at level 3 you'd get another 1, at level 5 you'd get another 1, etc. Slow and inconvenient, but there's currently no way to add it via a formula far as I can tell.

½ doesn't work either, unfortunately.
