To make this a quick, I actually been making some Vestiges as well, and possibly working on an Arm of the Betrayer in the future. I know that plenty of mine area bit specific, so if there's any suggestions, I am open to it as well. I am a bit new to being a DM, and a bit unsure if they are a little too powerful. I also have made some homebrew spells as well to fit a couple of these, but I will probably make a new thread about that later. Here's what I got so far, and it's kind of a long one.
Inertia
A lost and forgotten Vestige of Divergence, Inertia, also known as one of the four Legacies of the Genasi, is a longbow made from parts of deceased elementals during the middle of the Calamity. This weapon is one of 4 sets for the Genasi, gifted to them or created in honor to either Erathis (The Lawbearer), Pelor (The Dawnfather), Sarenrae (The Everlight), or Ioun (The Knowing Mistress) in order to help assist in defeating the Betrayer Gods.
Properties
Bonus to attack and damage rolls (+1 to +3)
Arrows fired deal additional (2d6 or 3d8) Force damage
Fire Scatter Shot, arrow separates into 5 miniature arrows that ricochets off walls and shield and can strike multiple targets at once. Each miniature arrow deals additional 1d4 piercing damage.
Fire Forceful Shot, deals additional 3d8 piercing damage, target makes DC 15 Constitution saving throw or suffer from additional 3d4 force damage.
Bonus action to transform into a double-bladed weapon. Treat this as a martial weapon that deals 2d6 slashing damage. Damage increases an additional 1d6 slashing when Awakened and another 1d6 slashing damage when Exalted.
Dormant
A specific type of element will react from a creature killed by arrow (eg, if you are a fire genasi, the creature killed will turn into ash).
Bonus to attack and damage rolls (+1 to +3)
Fire Scatter Shot, arrow separates into 5 miniature arrows that ricochets off walls and shield and can strike multiple targets at once. Each miniature arrow deals additional 1d4 piercing damage. The amount of arrows increases as the weapon awakens (8 arrows) and exalts (12 arrows)
Special. You can use this weapon to make melee weapon attacks. Treat it as a martial weapon that deals 2d6 + DEX modifer slashing damage on a hit and have the following properties: two-handed, double weapon , heavy. Damage increases an additional 1d6 slashing when Awakened and another 1d6 slashing damage when Exalted.
Awakened
Bonus to attack and damage rolls (+2)
Arrows fired deal additional (2d6) Force damage
Fire Forceful Shot, deals additional 3d8 piercing damage, target makes DC 15 Constitution saving throw or suffer from additional 3d4 force damage.
Exalted
Bonus to attack and damage rolls (+3)
Arrows fired deal additional (3d6) Force damage
Wielder has the ability to use Forceful Shot or Scatter Shot twice between rests, and the saving DC throw becomes 17.
Proficiency with a longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
The point of Inertia is to be a unique bladebow for a PC who is a ranger homebrewed lineage and hope to understand what else I could do to improve this.
Kazeshini
A mysterious vestige of divergence, this katana was a gift by Corellon during the Calamity. The champion who once wielded it was able to defeat Champions of Torog and Gruumsh in combat.
Properties
Bonus to attack and damage rolls (+1 to +3)
Attack deals additional 1d6 Lightning damage
Creatures attack wielder take 1d4 Force damage
Reaction to teleport wielder. Full movement
Spells (1/day each)
Dormant
Control Earth (Save DC 17)
Enhance Ability
Awakened
Greater Invisibility
Flashing Thunder Strike
Exalted
Crescent Moon Slash
Proficiency with a longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
Yubikiri
A Wakizashi created long ago, this vestige of divergence pairs well with its sister sword, Kazeshini quite well in battle. It was used to slay the second wielder of Ruin's Wake, and narrowly defeat the previous champion of Tharizdun, Serapothos.
Properties:
+1 to +3 bonus (damage and hit rolls)
deals an extra 2d4 piercing to a target that it hits
Spells: 1/day
Dormant:
Raksha's Hurricane Slash
Awakened:
Water Slash
Exalted:
Wish (This is one spell that can't recharge in one day, rather in 4- or 5-days' time because Wish is an OP spell to say the least)
Proficiency with a shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
These two vestiges were made as a PC in the group wanted to create a samurai-based character, but since there's not really been one before, I figured I'd help build something unique with them. I made the option of letting them have two vestiges, as a bargaining chip instead of trying to rewrite the entire Exandria map due to the fact in their first bio that their character was from a mysterious 5th continent, and I am not entirely comfortable enough with doing something like that as a first time DM.
The next two are still in the works, but this is what I have so far in the description. Suggestions would be helpful, and usually I like to give credit to the people who suggested it.
Fireheart
A mace vestige, from the group of Genasi vestiges of divergence. Forged in a forgotten and lost city in Tal'dorei, its unique features emit a bright less flame when not touched, until someone proven worthy attempts to reclaim it and burn brighter than ever. This vestige may also allow other genasi subraces the fire resistance, and fire genasi the immunity. But what do you think? Maybe add a property to add fire damage to the mace, about 1d6 (dormant) 2d6 (awakened) 3d6 (exalted)? Add an action that allows you to choose a spell, maybe Heat metal, or Wall of Fire (once per day sort of thing).
Silverlight
A vestige Greatsword created not in the eyes of the gods but has arcane powers that are unrivaled. The weapon is made from Arandur covered in lightning dragon breath, also known as powerflux, allowing the user to emit unique powerful magic. The way to get the metal will definitely kill someone as it requires you to survive a lightning breath attack, if you can survive that easily. Initially a vestige of Bane, it specifications indicate that only one with true purpose and seeks it can truly unleash Silverlight's power.
I'm thinking for this vestige that if an enemy gets an attack, there's additional damage from lightning and thunder, because I don't wanna do a repeat of things with my previous idea and Star Razor with the reaction thing. Another property is that you could possibly shield yourself with the greatsword as a reaction, taking reduced damage, but I'm still working that one out if that's a little too powerful.
To any who respond and help out with suggestions, thank you later in advance cause I really need it given this is my first time trying out being a DM, and want to make it something else.
If there are also questions about the spells as well, I will probably make another response as well that tells what each can do specifically.
