You sense the presence of any trap within range that is within line of sight. A trap, for the purpose of this spell, includes anything that would inflict a sudden or unexpected effect you consider harmful or undesirable, which was specifically intended as such by its creator. Thus, the spell would sense an area affected by the alarm spell, a glyph of warding, or a mechanical pit trap, but it would not reveal a natural weakness in the floor, an unstable ceiling, or a hidden sinkhole.
This spell merely reveals that a trap is present. You don't learn the location of each trap, but you do learn the general nature of the danger posed by a trap you sense.
And is basically useless.
So how does this sound instead....
Option 1: You sense the presence of any danger within a 100ft radius of your current location. Danger, for the purpose of this spell, includes anything that would inflict a sudden or unexpected effect you consider harmful or undesirable, such as triggering an alarm spell, a glyph of warding, or a mechanical pit trap, and reveals any natural weakness in the environment, such as a weak floor, an unstable ceiling, or a hidden sinkhole.
This spell reveals that danger is present and you provides you with a vision, seeing yourself as if you had triggered the danger allowing you to identify it.
Option 2: Make it Concentration While concentrating on this spell, you sense the presence of any danger within a 100ft radius of your current location.
Option 1 makes it more useful but not overpowered. Option 2 makes it so you'd have it on all the time. This makes the perception skill significantly less useful and means you'd rarely get hit with traps, removing a fun part of dungeoneering
