So this is my first creation, thought it would be neat for a druid character. Just checking if this is to powerful or needs fixes.
Requires attunement by druid.
A staff measuring 8 feet in length carved from old oak by ancient druids of the forest, bears a bee hive afixed to the top. When wielded by an attuned druid the user may spend X amount of charges to create 1 of 3 effects per action. This staff contains 10 charges, each dawn the staff regains 2d4+2 charges. If the staffs charges are reduced to 0, roll a 1d20, on a 1 the bees leave the hive in search of a new home and the staff disintegrates.
1. (2 charges) Create a honey brew potion that heals 2d4+2 hit points.
2. (4 charges) Summon a swarm of bees that covers an area 20feet wide by 20feet high within 30feet of the user. All creatures in the area take 1d6+2 piercing damage and 3d6 poison damage on a failed DC 11 constitution save or half damage on successful save. Does not affect undead, constructs or creatures of huge size or larger.
3. (6 charges) casts Giant Insect spell (4th level) to create 5 Giant Bees with the same stats as Giant Wasp.
It seems like a pretty balanced item, you just need to reword it a little. Otherwise, it seems pretty good. Also, does the potion require a separate action to consume or is that part of the original action?

Does consuming a potion use an action?. I'm new to 5e. I've played AD&D and a bit of 3.5, but that was a long time ago. My thought was it makes the potions and you just keep them in your inventory. also what would need reworded to make it read more clearly. And what level character could this be awarded to? Thanks.
I’d also agree that it’s probably rare. Though maybe you should specify that the potions only last for a certain amount of time because the characters could otherwise have a massive stockpile, maybe even sell some off.

I would say it's rare or (probably not) very rare. So a character of about 5th level could wield it.
