"When you cast a spell with a duration of instantaneous you can spend 1 Sorcery Point to cause the spell too not produce any sound. Although side effects of the spell such as knocking a building over still produce sound."
It's a bit more vague than the other meta magic, and it would technically cause thunder spells to not deal damage, but I think it could be interesting.
So spells would still require the verbal component so as not to overlap with subtle spell, but the the spell effect would not create a sound?
The only sounds I can think of spells making are Thunder damage (which this prevents, so it wont be used), sounds made by knocking something over (which this does not prevent), or sounds made as part of an illusion (which this prevents, and won't be used for).
What sounds do you imagine this metamagic would actually be used to prevent? The crackling of fire or buzz of lightning?
Yeah, it would cause the effects such as the explosion of a fireball to be silent, but in retrospect that is very DM dependant, I suppose I could change to so that sound didn't go pay a certain point, for instance if you can Thunderwave the sound is only audible in the range of the cube, that way it wouldn't negate thunder damage and it would have a more tangible benefit.

SILENT SPELL:
