A while back I attempted to create a Ring that gave the user a Feat. I do not really know how to do this so it is not sharable. Looking at the fact that to take a feat a character forgoes boosting an ability 2 points, it does not seem unreasonable. A Ring of protection +1 is like having a higher Dex and an Amulet of Health gives the user a 19 Constitution. I know I am stating obvious facts but just thought a comparison is needed to demonstrate the coolness and fairness of a RIng of Feat would be. Any thoughts? Thanks!
I see no issues with the idea, and I'm guessing that items like this more or less exist already in the history of the game, even if they weren't called that. You could make a Ring of Alertness, for example, which would be perfectly plausible. Others, while not being unbalanced, might just be...funny. Like a Ring of Tavern Brawling :)
But imagine the coolness, and powerfulness, of a Ring of Magic Initiate.
Now I want to make a story arc where the party runs into a really tough ogre bully who hangs out in a tavern and, after getting their butts kicked, the party realizes the only way to defeat him is to seek out the legendary Ring of Tavern Brawling, which is held by the Guildmaster of the Bartender's Guild. The party must get this ring by guile, stealth, or diplomacy and then return to the tavern to challenge the ogre to the mother of all bar brawls. The winner drinks for free. The loser has to leave town.

Plot twist--the ogre is a bully because he is wearing the Ring!
Once the party steals it from him, he is no longer proficient in hitting people with a barstool or a log from the fireplace.
Even better if it is a cursed ring and once you knock the ogre out and remove the ring, he is free from the curse and becomes very apologetic for his actions. He offers to pay for all damages and accepts responsibility for the trouble he has been causing. It is also an intelligent ring and is very persuasive in convincing anyone who has been drinking that they should put on the ring on and become aware that the person next to them is definitely trying to start a fight with them.

Love it. It does give all the Tavern Brawler benefits. It just turns you into a drunken d-bag too. You could even make it a temporary curse--putting it on just means you can't take it off for 24 hours. LOL
Ha! I like it, except that I'd get rid of the part about drinks. The ring itself is what's making you belligerent--the ring turns you into the equivalent of a drunken jerk. What about a Wis save of 12 + the other creature's Str bonus. ("Oh yeah, you think you're so big and tough!")

Looking for new subclasses, spells, magic items, feats, and races? Opinions welcome :)

Let's make it official.
"Not all those who wander are lost"
I freaking love this group! So many ideas running through my head....
Someone made a Ring of the Lucky. Essentially the Luck feat...
