I made an item in my campaign, and I'm trying to figure out how to get the damage to show up properly on the homebrew item.
Ideally, this is what it does.
Requires attunement, +1 magic maul. Light enough to be versatile. One handed, I want it to do 1d10 Two handed, normal 2d6 damage
Every time I add the "versatile" weapon property, it'll auto-set to 2d8 regardless of what I put in the die type/amount of dies, and so forth. I'm baffled.
Ah, darn. That’s discouraging. I’ll just have to add it as a custom action, I suppose. I may leave both damage dies as custom actions so the player doesn’t get confused and use two-handed does all the time when they’re wielding their shield.

Anyone have an idea? Please and thanks!
You can't do what you are trying to do. The closest thing is a warhammer.

Thanks for the reply!
Eventually the homebrew tools will catch up and you will be able to this one way or another.
