With the advent of the unarmed fighting style with UA making an unarmed fighter outside of monk is that bit closer. Obviously a fighter/barbarian offers the strength based brawler option now, but I'd like to make an unarmoured feat that would allow this for a greater range of classes.
I've not got much experience in home brew so could do with help tuning this feat. As it stands I'm thinking a half feat sounds appropriate as unarmoured defence on its own doesn't offer much of a power increase outside of niche scenarios like infiltration and heat metal.
At the moment I'm going down two tracks of thought, either a skirmisher or brute.
Skirmisher:
+1 con
AC is equal to 13 + con modifier, may be used with shields.
+ 10 foot to movement and long jump, +3 foot to movement
Brute
+1 con
AC is equal to 13 + con modifier, may be used with shields
+1hp per level
My think in making the AC 13+con, is that con is a universal attribute making it valid to all classes and is linked to defence, while it will start at a similar level to optimised monks and barbarians it does not have as high a maximum keep those class features valid.
The skirmisher increased movement makes sense for being more mobile with out armour's encumbrance but might be a little much. The brute makes sense from this character being particularly Hardy and might be nice for gishes, borrowing heavily from the stone sorcerer's defences.
Thanks for any guidance you can offer.
