It would be best if you first looked up the Modern d20 SRD, even if you intend to use the 5th edition system instead. That way you can get ideas and develop answers for many of these questions your asking.
However, if you do choose to use the Modern d20 system, roll20 has support for its character sheet already.
I was thinking of stripping out the fantasy and using the basic D&D system as the base for a "Modern" game.
Current thinking is something like SAS or Seal Team missions. Or any modern setting really.
dndbeyond so that we could port into roll20 ect with beyond 20 add on.
I can see that I can homebrew create weapons, armour and all sorts of kit to outfit our good guys and back guys.
The skills already in place will mostly go across or custom skill things like explosive disposal/setting. Tech use (laser designator. jammers ect).
Wondering how to do class...... Do I just use fighter or homebrew a whole new class systems and create "monsters" for the enemy?
What level to set this at as this will totally guide damage done by various weapons ect......
What else might be a better system to integrate with roll20 or similar?

Thanks for that.
Just coming back to RPG's and didn't realise that it was so similar to D&D.
Guess I should look at that and get more familiar with roll20...... :-)
