So I'm trying to make a warlock homebrew for dragons, but I'm trying something out where the type of dragon you choose gives you different spells to pick from. Problem is, the normal default spells I put in the bar are working as intended, but the spells I want the player to pick from are being automatically added and are not showing up on the spell list you pick from like the other spells. Am I doing something wrong? How does would give spells to a warlock subclass and have them work the way other spells for warlock work?

Hey y'all, I'm Okashido and I'm super into D&D. I like making characters(to the point where I have a doc about 100 pages long filled with character ideas.), am an aspiring actor in college, and also consider myself a storyteller and actor at the table. I enjoy making characters with backstories and watching them play off of other people. I roll with the punches and am a great Improviser. I can DM, but think my strengths lay in being a Player most. Hope we can all have fun and maybe play some games.
Put them in the additional specific spells field. If there are different options for this subclass that change these spells, you may have to do what circle of land druid did.
But the circle of land druid's spells were automatically given once you chose the land type. Warlock's spells don't work like that. I wondering what combination of modifiers to the spells in the spell field gives the warlock style spells, where they are added to your list of spells, but not automatically given to you.

So you are saying there is no way to input spells into the spell field and have them work the same way that warlock spells normally work? Cause I cannot put them into the specific spell field, as I wanted to make each dragon have spells that matched their unique themes.

Which is why I suggested to do what circle of the land druid did in my first comment. Make multiple versions of this subclass for each dragon type.
I hope they can fix this later. Having to do this is a really big hassle.

Additional Specific Spells. Not the spells field.
Use any other warlock subclass as an example.

Agreed.
