So I have just been looking to share this everywhere I can. I have been working on it for a while. I am looking for any feedback you may have. Where can I improve, whats too strong or unclear or too weak. Ect.
The Spiritbound class includes 3 subclasses, as well as 5 unique magic items created specifically for the spiritbound. I also plan on creating some spells for the class in the future, and maybe some custom feats too. Making this has been a ton of fun
The Spiritbound is a class which is built around a spirit. A spirit can be many things, your will given form, an otherworldly entity bound to you, and so much more. The Spirit is your connection to your arcane. It is a being at your command, to exert your will onto the world.
So, a spiritbound can summon a spirit. This is what the core of the class is. You summon your spirit, as a bonus action. And all your abilities are tied to your spirit. This class's main stat is Charisma. There is a few things about the spirit that function weirdly. So, the Spirit has no actions of its own. Instead, you use your action or sometimes bonus actions to make it do stuff. Additionally, any damage the spirit takes, and the effects of any spells that target it, are passed onto the Spiritbound(and before you say anything, yes I did account for the possibility of an AOE hitting both the spirit and the spiritbound. It only effects one of them). You can take some basic actions through your spirit, similar stuff to what you can do with mage hand. Each spirit has a range, determined by its subclass, which determines how far away
So, what else can your spirit do? Well, the things it can do are determined by its subclass, and Spirit Gifts. Spirit gifts function similarly to Warlock Invocations, and they allow you to give your spirit more abilities. This can be things like granting you temporary Tremor Sense, the ability to influence rolls, and so much more. You get more as you level up, allowing your spirit to grow in power. These culminate in the level 20 feature, Heightened Spirit gifts. Unlike most classes you get to choose your capstone. This can be anything from the ability to cast an improved version of Time Stop, to becoming completely invisible and invulnerable for a few turns. You only get one Heightened Spirit Gift so chose wisely.
The spiritbound is also a half caster. Their spell list is mostly focused on utility
The Spiritbound comes with 3 unique subclasses for you to chose from. There is the Wrathfun Vanguard, a powerful melee spirit archetype that has a short range but can unleash devastating attacks. It is focused on high damage. The Unbound Phantom has a massive range and a ranged attack, making it the perfect scout. It specializes in long ranged combat and asserting control over the battlefield. Finally, the Eldritch conduit. For when you want to be a Spiritbound, but also a full caster. this subclass gets access to more spells from other classes, and higher level spells than would be available normally to the Spiritbound.
The core theme of the spirit bound is customization. The spirit gifts allow you to give your spirit tons of unique abilities. These allow you to build a spiritbound to fill a ton of different roles, from a tank to a scout to a healer to a dps.
The Tl;Dr: The Spiritbound class is all about having a Jojo's stand.
Ive put a whole lot of work into this, and I want it to be the best it can be. So please, give me any feedback or ideas you may have. I love receiving feedback because it helps me improve.
