The frontier town of Phandalin is built on the ruins of a much older settlement. Hundreds of years ago, the old Phandalin was a thriving human town whose people were firmly allied with neighboring dwarves and gnomes. Then an orc horde swept through the area and laid waste to the settlement, and Phandalin was abandoned for centuries.
In the last three or four years, settlers from the cities of Neverwinter and Waterdeep have begun the hard work of reclaiming the ruins of Phandalin. The new settlement is home now to farmers, woodcutters, fur traders, and prospectors drawn by stories of gold and platinum in the foothills of the Sword Mountains. The arrival of a white dragon threatens to destroy all that they’ve worked to rebuild.
This adventure will start at level 1 and go to level 7 with the official content. Content after level 7 will be determined by the feel of the group with many options available including content from Tales from the Yawning Portal or other unofficial content depending on group dynamic.
This is a pay-to-play game with a cost of $12 per player per session. Sessions will be weekly at 2pm est. on Wednesdays and will be 3-4 hours long.**
Game Rules:
No 100% evil characters. Characters will be fighting against evil forces therefore they should not be evil themselves.
Be cool. We all want to have fun and escape for a little while at least. Let people explore the idea they wish and don't stifle others' creativity.
No PvP combat. PvP combat will be treated as a role play situation and no dice will be rolled for combat or spell effects. Adversarial player interactions are discouraged but not 100% against the rules.
Critical Fail on attack ends your turn. Attack rolls of natural 1 end your turn automatically. I employ this house rule as a way to balance out critical hits and make critical fails more consequential. if a majority of players dislike this rule we can discuss not using it.
DM calls are final, please do not try to argue a DM call as all it does is slow the game down. I will make a decision as best I see fit in the situation. We can discuss rules outside the game and make final determinations for future occurrences.
No sexual or abusive role playing. I will not allow sexually explicit or abusive situations to unfold. While this game is adult oriented, some players may not be comfortable with certain situations. If a situation occurs that you are uncomfortable, please bring it to my attention via private message or in game as you see fit.
Healing potion house rule: Drinking a potion of healing requires a bonus action. Feeding an unconscious player a potion of healing requires an action. You and toss a potion of healing to another player within 30 feet of you using an action - both players must success on a DC 10 athletics check to toss and catch the potion. A player can request and receive a potion of healing from another player within 5 feet of them using an action and then drink it with a bonus action. The player giving the potion uses their reaction to accomplish this. This mechanic works for any type of potion, not just potions of healing.
Character creation: Use the standard array or point-buy and pick 1 feat, please explain your feat in your backstory, how did you come about this ability.
What you will need:
Discord for voice chat and campaign updates
