Hello all! Welcome to the Dungeon of Terra.
I am looking for players to join our group for the Curse of Strahd, which will use the new Ravenloft options as soon as they are released! Upon completion, the group and I will decide which module we will play after that. Ultimately, I am homebrewing a campaign from levels 1 to 30 but this idea is far down the road. I own all the sourcebooks on Fantasy Grounds Unity, along with any modules that we will be playing. As such players will gain access to all officially published classes, sub-classes, and races for the duration of the campaign. I also have said content on DnD Beyond. As a DM, I always aim for maximum player enjoyment and will include the character backstories into the world, so that you feel part of it and get immersed. As such I would like to be involved in character creation. Player comfort will be a priority. Jokes, however, may sometimes be tongue in cheek so if you are easily offended, I wouldn’t recommend joining, the Orcs/Drow/Druegar are considered evil in my world (exceptions occur of course :D) Leave real world politics outside the game, please! Of course, in world politics eg. Bahamut vs Tiamat is fine and even encouraged! I shall be using different voices for NPCs, I would encourage players to try this but this is not expected or necessary.
Any interest and I shall send you a quick Q&A sheet via google doc with topics I will want to cover over a session 0.
Why are you charging?
This is a perfectly understandable question, yes, I am relatively new as a Dungeon Master, but with the financial and time investments that I have put in I feel that a small compensation is fair For example I have paid for a Premium subscription for Fantasy Grounds Unity, having duplicate copies of modules and rules on both FGU and DnD Beyond, as in order to prepare for the sessions I will be using breaks in my main job! If I run a 4-hour session, 1-2 hours are put in on top of that for each hour of play preparing for that session (the total works out at far less than minimum wage if 4 hours of play, 4 hours of prep work). This is the reason that I am making the first session of play free of charge so that you may decide if this is worth your time and money!
As I play in a paid campaign myself, I have noticed that paid sessions are more reliable and of better quality, both for players and the DM. In a paid campaign the DM is fully accountable for making sure that the game is prepared for and enjoyable for all members.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, if you are interested, please message/add me on Discord TerraPrime#9396
Pretty new but not totally inexperienced player looking to try and get more into rp. I play another game on Sunday but often not enough players show up.
Other than Sunday night, my schedule is super open and flexible, so I could show up reliably.
Would be cool if I could play a changeling, to try on different personas. Perhaps a bard primary. Is multiclassing allowed? Then maybe with a 1 lvl dip into hexblade warlock for some cool stuff. Having some deity connected with some of my abilities sounds fun. Maybe a 1 lvl dip into fighter to be less squishy.
Could try out rp with maybe halfling as my initial primary persona.
Once I obtain the third lvl spell Galder's Tower, I'd like to find a vacant lot to summon my tower and use it as a pub and base of operations.
Could maybe put up a request/questboard and look to hire a chef, waitress, manager, etc, and offer to pay gold for fresh wild game.
Maybe anyone could use the request board by paying the reward money to the counter, which will be held in escrow until the quest is either completed or cancelled.
Could brew mead and beer, bake bread and potatoes and simple pies, roast up whole game on a spitfire, offer roasted meat on the bone and stews. Could use prestidigitation to make everything taste amazing. Could maybe use suggestion to get patrons to spread hype about the pub to their friends.
I like no encumbrance within reason, but also open to encumbrance or a variant/homebrew encumbrance if it isn't too much micromanagement.
I like rolling for stats. Whatever rolling system you prefer. Not looking to minmax or powergame, cool with playing a weaker or stronger character. I'm also cool with rolling up a new character if I end up getting killed, not that I seek death or anything.
Would want to choose my own equipment if I can choose to begin with starter gold for gear.
Looking to maybe begin as chaotic neutral and let my alignment shift fluidly based on the events which unfold in game. Changeling would let me try out different sets of flaws and personality traits.
Will likely end up useful as a face, though also not looking to spotlight hog.
I think I'd prefer not playing as a typical murder hobo. If the party begins wanting to murder hobo everything for no reason, I'd probably briefly be the voice of reasoning to offer a non fatal alternative solution to a problem, but I'm also open to go along with the party vs holding things up, as long as it's not something which seriously violates my personal creed, which is also fluid and open to shifting along with my alignment.
Oh, and am working on building up a collection on dndbeyond over time, and wouldn't mind activating membership to share at at some point.
Already nearly fully unlocked the PHB, Eberron: Rising from the Last War, and Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. Also spent a bit of money on some of Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Lost Laboratory of Kwalish, and Explorer's Guide to Wildemount. Will probably budget for around $25-$60 per month for new material, so in the future could put some $ towards getting things for the group. I'm also cool with this being a paid game.
Sent op friend request on discord from Alteron.
In my other game we just play over discord using dndbeyond for char sheets and rolls, with no map. Never used map software but would be open to trying other software. Long time ago played irl pathfinder for a few months, with maps and miniatures and that was fun.

Yes indeed. I have two players confirmed and there are still spaces free!
Yes multiclassing is allowed and so is changeling :)
