Edit: I got a much more overwhelming response than expected and as such I have locked the form. Best of luck on finding a group to any who were unable to respond to this game! ~DDB LFG Forum General Info Questions~

~World Prompt~
"The year is 26 PCW (Post Cobalt War) and civilization is in a state of recovery. After nearly a century of being at war with the Cobals (my setting's version of warforged), many still distrust them, while others realize the corruption that caused them to begin wreaking havoc in the first place was out of their control. The Sapphire Sanctum, nation neutral lawmakers, creators of the Cobals, and founders of the world's largest arcane academy, work diligently to ensure the flames of war die down and the world can return to the prosperous state it was in prior to The Cobalt War.
However, more sinister organizations have other plans. In the years following The Cobalt War, a nasty terrorist organization, Masquerade, has risen into the public eye. They seek to keep the flames of war stoked for their own nefarious, unknown reasons. Try as they might, The Sanctum and their allied factions have been unable to pin down Masquerade, as any agents able to be captured for interrogation escape through suicide or mysterious assassinations in the night. The public fear of Masquerade grows with each passing year and questions in private are asked as to whether The Sanctum can truly keep them safe or not."
~General Info~
So that little prompt there explains the state of Vestrela. The campaign itself, however, will be entirely tailored to what players want. The world is vast, with many regions and even planes of existence to explore. There is room for pretty much any genre or aspect of fantasy within Vestrela. I have a Google Doc survey about world lore that I can send out to prospective players. It gives a brief overview of the basic structure of the world and lets you decided if you'd like to learn anything more about specific areas of the world, rather than me trying to bombard world lore all at once on everyone. To let me know you are reading this, when you fill out the player application, remember the word game.
Also, this is an LGBTQIA+ and POC friendly table. Vestrela is filled with people from all walks of life. It's fine if your character has a distaste for an in-game race, after all, part of the pitch was that the Cobals are not trusted by everyone, but any OOC bigotry will not be tolerated. Everyone should feel welcome at the table and no players should have to feel harassed. I personally am a cishet white male, but I welcome diversity at my table. If I find you're being rude to other players outside of the game, you will be booted. If I feel your negative actions in game towards another player's character are rooted in OOC opinions, you will be booted. Everyone's here to have fun and go on adventures and I plan to keep it that way.
The game would be online using Discord for voice, DnD Beyond for character sheets, and we'll start out using Roll20 for a VTT and make the switch to Foundry once I feel the group is consistent enough to warrant the $ and effort to have a Foundry server up and running. I do have a Master tier sub on DDB and will be inviting players to join a campaign on there for content sharing purposes. I have almost all of the non-adventure content available. We would play on Sunday, that part is non negotiable, but our start time can be any time between 2pm - 8pm. I usually run sessions 3 - 4 hours long.
~Player/ Character Creation Info~
As a player, you have full access to most player options on DnD Beyond, the only thing really being restricted are races, for lore reasons. The Session Zero Questionnaire form I'll have you fill out as a player application will list all the races available and ask what your preference would be. MOST of them are on there, there are just a few things that don't exist in my world like halflings or vedalken.
We'll start at level 4, because I want everyone to start with their subclass and getting that first Feat or ASI from the get go or being able to take that multiclassing dip from the get go just helps me narratively. I will not limit any builds, you can munchkin as much as you want, just know that if your character is built for combat only, there will be sessions you may tune out due to no combat. I want you to be as powerful as you can be at whatever you want to do, just make sure, for your enjoyment, that you're not TOO focused on one particular thing.
Customize Origin, Optional Class Features, Feats, and pretty much all character creation related optional rules are available. To let me know you are reading this, when you fill out the player application, remember the word raven.
Starting equipment and character creation will be gone over during session zero. You can bring an idea to the session, but I use an altered version of the Dungeon Coach stat rolling method, which is easier to just walk people through step by step rather than try to explain how it works fully. It results in characters being around the balance level of point buy or standard array without removing rolling for stats entirely.
Speaking of rolling dice, outside of initial stat rolls, I won't force anyone to use the Discord bot or DnD Beyond/VTT dice unless rolls seem suspicious. I personally know I zone out if I can't physically roll dice. I need that tactile feel and sound. I want everything to be fair, however, so if it is brought up to me that other players feel someone's rolls appear to be fudged, we'll just move to a format of all players roll digitally. That way, we don't call anyone out, but we can address the issue. To let me know you are reading this, when you fill out the player application, remember the number 13.
~House Rules / Alterations~
Lastly, before we get to the Session Zero Questionnaire, I want to go over a few homebrew rules that I personally use. I do run 95% by the book, but I feel the following change the game for the better:
Drinking a potion is a bonus action, but applying one to someone else is still an action.
If, for FLAVOR reasons, you would like to PERMANENTLY change the damage type of a spell, just let me know and we could work with something. This shouldn't be used to overcome resistances, but if you can give me a good reason as to why your character's version of the spell would be a different damage type, I'll allow it.
Secret Death Saves - I roll death saves, you have to scramble wondering if your friend is about to die or is stabilizing. It just adds extra tension to combat and puts more emphasis on keeping everyone up. Obvious things like being damaged while unconscious will still result in known failed saves, however.
I won't impose it on Revivify, as I feel that breaks how that spell was meant to work, but for higher level resurrection spells, I like the resurrection skill challenge that Matt Mercer uses to revive dead PCs, and the subsequent fatigue of being resurrected.
Flanking requires a skill check to pull off. Being able to just stand somewhere and flank is a bit much. I do also use the "directly across + the spaces on either side of that space" rule when determining flanking. So there are more spaces to flank in, and it doesn't require any actions to do, but on an ally's turn, if they are in a position to flank, before they make a melee attack, you can attempt to flank with a skill check. Example: the barbarian might roll an intimidation check to briefly scare their opponent enough for the barbarian's ally to have advantage on their melee attacks this turn.
~Player Application~
So, alas, with all that said, Here is a Pre Session Zero Questionnaire to fill out to let me know you'd be interested! https://forms.gle/jcHdv4BuGaxd46CU9
