***EDIT 22 MARCH: Confirmed that a new player will be needed. I have started a new forum thread to seek one with more up-to-date info.***
Please check my latest posts to find the new active thread. Thanks!
***EDIT 21 MARCH: POSSIBLE UPCOMING OPENING IN TABLE***
There may be a spot for a (preferably, for group balance) woman/femme player to join our table soon. While I'm not certain of this yet, finding the perfect matches can be a challenge, so I am putting the ask out in advance so conversations can begin and if a new player is warranted, which is likely but not certain, I might have somebody ready to go. I should have a certain answer about that very soon.
For context that differs from the below post which was made during pre-game recruitment: we are 12 sessions in and play on Tuesdays at 7pm EET every week, with sessions normally lasting 4.5 hours. We honestly have a dream table, with a beautiful blend of seriousness and humour - we were already crying together by session 4. If somebody else would mesh just as well with us, it'd be a treat.
***EDIT 28 OCT: APPLICATIONS CLOSED; 8 out of 17 have been selected to move forward for further discussion.*** I am very confident I'll find the 5-6 players I'm looking for among those 8, but if something changes and I need to recruit again, I will remove the CLOSED tag and bump this post. Thanks to everybody for your interest - I didn't expect nearly as much!
Hi there!
My name is Jor (she/her), I'm 30, and I'm a Canadian living in Finland. I've been DMing for over 3 years and my last campaign has come to an end, so I'm looking to start again. Now, full disclosure: I won't be ready for perhaps a couple months. But finding a great, cohesive table takes time, and I want to do my due diligence to thoroughly vet players, then have potential players have a chance to get to know each other and see if we're all good matches for each other before sinking in a lot of time and effort into the main campaign. We may even be able to play a one shot in the interim to test the waters. But first things first - I figured it wouldn't hurt to look for applications in advance, in case anyone knows they're looking to join a new game around the end of the year. I'm also very open to the idea of running for a pre-established group of 4-6 if they've either played together for a significant amount of time before or have known each other for a long time outside of D&D and are now looking to try it out together.
Game time would be 19:00-23:00 Eastern European time (GMT+3 in summer, GMT+2 in winter) on Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. Games would be weekly 3.5- to 4.5-hour sessions with a mid-session break for roughly 10 minutes, and weekly breaks when needed, which is usually not more than one every month or two for me. I'm in the process of reading the 2024 rulebook and considering whether to make the switch for this game or not. Starting level will be 1, but expect a very quick first couple of level ups - I just want to tell a story of a bunch of "nobodies" with untapped potential who get thrust into something more than what they expected for themselves. Don't expect a 1-20 campaign (but if we all really gel well, who knows), but playing for at least a year or more is reasonable.
Age must be 20+, no exceptions. Voice chat will be in Discord. You must have a good quality microphone with minimal background noise. Webcam is optional, but preferred (but if there's a day here or there that you don't feel like it, that's completely fine - I'll do the same). In the past I have used a free Chrome/Firefox extension called AboveVTT for the virtual tabletop and I'll likely do the same for this one, but I'm considering checking out Owlbear Rodeo if I have the time to learn and set it up.
What you need to know about the world:
It's a fairly traditional fantasy setting - medieval-adjacent with bits and pieces of more advanced tech, but nothing "futuristic". Magic is rare in small places, but much more common in larger ones. Everywhere is different.
It is not fully fleshed out. I am building the world as we play in it. A few cities are very detailed from time spent in the last campaign, but depending on where my new players go, I might be crafting on the fly. Don't expect incredibly complex, vast and complete lore just yet - but I'm working on it.
Consequences for your actions. Your reputation and public perception of you matters. You are not above the law. With that being said, it's D&D and I want you to have fun and do crazy things - just be mindful and know that I consider others' perception of you. Don't go around killing everybody in your path and call yourselves good-aligned or heroes.
Some types of magic are illegal and/or heavily restricted. It's still 100% possible to have fun playing a caster, but there are specifics you'll need to know, primarily around resurrection magic and charms.
Limited playable species list. This is because I want to keep some species monstrous and/or uncommon, especially based on geography and considering the continent in which our game will take place. While this means some species may draw interest or uncertainty from people unfamiliar with them, they will not be ostracized or mistrusted. I don't want fantasy racism - but curiosity is reasonable.
There will sometimes be very heavy topics and scenes (including but not limited to suicide, body horror, self-harm, animal abuse, etc). Early into the "interview" process, I will check with all potential players about lines & veils (uncomfortable topics you want out of the game). Most, I will be able to work around. But to be upfront, there are some I will not. No disrespect to anybody - we all just have different thresholds and different tones we enjoy. I enjoy punctuating my stories with darker moments - when it makes sense to. I want to be clear I don't throw in a ton of violence just for the sake of it. Everything will be relevant to the story. And there will absolutely be times to let loose and joke around too - it won't be super serious all the time. A balance is important.
What you need to know about the table:
Zero-tolerance policy for any hate speech or demeaning behaviours, even as a "joke" or something you "didn't really mean". No sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc. While the theme of my games doesn't focus on any of these topics, respect is very important in my world and I try to be inclusive and offer a variety of representation with my NPCs. Things like race, gender identity or expression, etc. just aren't a problem in my world, even for the BBEGs. D&D is for everyone.
This is a roleplay-oriented table. I love combat as much as the next person, but I do not love forced combat just for the sake of having it. Your decisions on what to do and where to go will guide how much combat there is. If you're in a city gathering intel for a mission, there may be two or three sessions without combat. If you're out on a dungeon crawl, there may be two or three sessions of nonstop combat. I don't force it one way or another.
We use some rules that make the game mechanically more difficult in favour of storytelling and realism. These include, but are not limited to: exhaustion & potential injury on going unconscious; using hit dice to heal on a long rest; resurrection magic not being a guaranteed success.
To elaborate on the above point, there is a real possibility of death in this game. I play my NPCs & monsters truthfully to their character: some will leave an unconscious person and go for the remaining party members, while some will attack someone until they're dead. Resurrection is not guaranteed to work. I do not make exceptions as that would not be fair. The same goes for the injury table - you must be okay with injuries which can either be very annoying temporarily, or potentially game-changing for your character going forward.
What I am looking for in a player:
Collaboration with and respect for your fellow players. Do not hog the spotlight and do not ruin a moment for somebody else. Support the others at the table by showing interest in their characters' growth the same way you'd want them to do for yours. If somebody expresses a concern to you, listen openmindedly and take it on board without getting defensive. Let's look out for each other.
Be comfortable with first-person roleplay. That doesn't mean you need to be a professional actor or be able to do a voice. It does mean that I expect you to stay in-character as much as possible and try to fully inhabit them. Avoid metagaming and stick to knowledge that your character knows. This also means putting yourself in your character's shoes when making decisions and consider how their morals would affect their choices and how those choices would emotionally impact them. Heroes have feelings - and trauma - too.
Be punctual and timely. If you are frequently late or missing sessions with or without notice, you'll be removed. It's just too difficult to have people constantly needing to be caught up.
Decision-makers. Now, I don't mean you should always push the big red button without trying to research what it is first - you absolutely should do that. But I do want you to collect and analyze information and decide what to do, and take initiative to tug on threads that are already laid out. I'm not going to railroad you into doing what I want you to or think you should. I will give you options, and sometimes a push, but what you do in the end is up to you. Don't be afraid to reject options I've laid out more plainly in favour of revisiting something else that was put on the back burner.
Be positive. In a game of dice, sometimes you're going to have bad days. Sometimes, you'll just make a decision that has unforeseen adverse effects. You need to be able to roll with the punches and have a good time regardless. This is not about winning and losing or player vs. DM - it's about telling a story together, and that includes low moments to make the highs feel even better. View low moments as a storytelling opportunity and keep a positive attitude.
You don't need to be online 24/7 by any means, but don't go completely MIA for 6 days between sessions. Sometimes housekeeping can be taken care of between game days and sometimes the party will want to do some planning. I really do keep this minimal, though - I enjoy my off days, too!
What you need to know about me as a DM:
I cannot do voices, so if a feminine voice for all NPCs is immersion breaking to you, you need not apply. With that being said, I fully inhabit my NPCs the best I can. I'll try to make you cry at least once as an NPC in this campaign, as I have in the past. :)
I'm punctual and reliable. It's rare I'm late, and I don't know if I've ever been more than 5 minutes late, and I also rarely have to cancel sessions short notice.
I tend to stick relatively closely to the rules. I enjoy the challenge of having to work within their limits, and I also think it's just the most fair way for me personally to DM. If all players have the same expectations for what they're able to do, then they're playing on a level field. The exception to this is where the rules don't feel like they fully account for narrative elements of current situations. For example, I might impose advantage or disadvantage if it makes sense, I consider terrain and how it would interact with spells, and I offer opportunity attacks if you crouch in front of an enemy. I think to myself, "what would make sense here?"
The biggest thing I am currently trying to improve as a DM is pacing. Now of course it can be difficult to predict what players will do, especially when I'm trying to walk a fine line between giving them space to freeform RP and push the story along while also trying not to railroad. But this is part of why I want players who are not afraid to choose their direction and stick with it - let's help each other!
I am going to work very closely with each of you on developing a detailed backstory that is integrated into the world. We will go back and forth until we get it just right. Many details will be agreed upon but I need some room to play and surprise you. You can expect your backstory to come into play and for your character to have a cool moment in the spotlight.
If you're interested and you don't mind the wait while we get to know each other and develop some characters, please fill out the questionnaire below:

I'm looking forward to talking to some people and telling a great story together! If you have any questions please feel free to send them along. I'm not necessarily expecting many responses with how extensive my parameters are - and I do sort of make long posts on purpose to try to curate responses to people patient and committed enough to read :) - but I'm going to give it a few days to see what trickles in so don't necessarily expect an immediate response, especially because I do want to find the best fits possible and create a table where we can soon all call ourselves friends.
Sorry I'm writing a full response rn, just wanted to say in advance how lovely and thought out this post is, I feel most dms who make long posts come off as overly controlling but this feels just massively considerate and thoughtful!
Thanks for that! I definitely do acknowledge I might give off the "scary amount of word vomit" vibe, but hey, that just rules out players who aren't patient enough to read haha. I appreciate the feedback so I know I don't seem TOO pretentious to at least one person.
Which days and times listed can you commit to consistently attending? I could consistently attend all 3 days, with a little less flexibility on the Monday.
What's your experience level with the game? I have been playing for the guts of 4 years now!
What makes a game or a table excellent for you? A. First person roleplay in the party and actually taking serious moments seriously or even just taking things seriously in general. I tend to try to be funny no matter what character I'm playing but I feel that in some games nothing really matters and you might as well not be playing a character at some points. B. Interparty roleplay and in character bonds are really important to me, I like it when pcs actually have unique relationships and feelings towards one another, it makes everyone more invested in other characters plots. (I adore one piece and the straw hat crew as well as team avatar from atla, so I suppose I like parties that reflect that sort of found family bond or at least have reasons to not get along that are interesting) C. Punishingly fair combat, my biggest pet peeve it when I, as a player am talking to an enemy before combat, they attack me and the dm says roll initiative. Initiative really should begin at INTENT TO ATTACK otherwise, I feel punished for pre combat roleplaying. I should have just said, "dm I attack the enemy" and then I would have gotten the pre combat attack, but I value roleplaying more then that.
What ruins a game or a table for you? Weird players. I need boundaries in games and players that actually respect each others time and fun. If you want to play a rogue who doesn't yet trust the party, that is fine, but it's a collaborative story telling game
What is a favorite memory from a game you've played? I played in a game with a few friends in which one of the party was the leader of our mercenary group. He didn't abuse it at all and my PC never called him by his name, just constantly called him Captain. My PC was a Paladin/Bloodhunter flame swordsmen and his was a axe wielding barbarian, so the two of them were both seen as the powerhouses of the party.
This world has a tournament for fighters held once ever ten years, by the time of the tournament, both my pc and his were two of the strongest humanoids on earth, and The Captain's goal was to eventually win this tournament. So we both entered. Our pcs easily went through the first couple rounds, high fiving in the dugout after every fight. It was only in the semi finals that the two faced any real resistance, from two NPCS who were both deeply interesting, each fight was basically a story to itself. In the end though, both of ours pcs won, and had to face each other in the finals.
There was no bad blood, no anger, not even hesitation to fight each other. Both of our characters wanted to push eachother to their absolute limit mentally and physically and finnally find out who the strongest in the party truly was. In a metagame sense, both me and the other player DID NOT CARE who won nearly as much as we cared about crafting the coolest fight ever as well as expressing who our characters truly were and what they meant to one another through this fight.
I will not say who won, the Orc Captain or the Flaming Swordsmen, it doesn't really matter. It was just a great session of dnd.
What is your strength as a player? I am a very good roleplayer, very easily immersed. I like to write characters with rich backstories and inner lives. I think I am able to distinguish my actual voice from my character voices quite well and find it easy to stay in character. On the technical side I know way too much about 5e's rules and manage not to be a rules lawyer so yay me lol
What is your weakness as a player? Puzzles and complex plots. I need to be handheld just a little to understand certain things. I don't really do to well with vast lore drops and take a while to understand it. I think fantasy naming conventions just never stick in my brain. I am paying attention, it just hasn't clicked for me yet, I SWEAR.
Would you be open to either 2014 or 2024 rules, or would either work? If possible I think a mix would be cool. Personally I am more comfortable with the 2014 rules but the changes made to Monk were absolutely stellar.
Do you have a class (no artificers) you're considering playing?
nothing solid tbh, I would need to speak with you more and figure out the vibe of the campaign and story before deciding on a class. I tend towards martials though.
pls forgive any spelling or grammar errors, my vision is quite poor especially at night My discord is: musicmanlovessam (pls contact me there instead of replying here, I am far more active on discord)
Which days and times listed can you commit to consistently attending? Tuesday and Friday in the evenings
What's your experience level with the game? I have been playing for 5 plus years now and love every moment
What makes a game or a table excellent for you? Being able to interact with a wide variety of different players with characters with their own stories and struggles. And as a party can help each other over ones difficulties and form life long friendships with fantastic memories
What ruins a game or a table for you? People that have the "main character syndrome" they always try to insert themselves into every scenario that does not involve them
What is a favourite memory from a game you've played? This is a long one XD. In order to seek into an enemy city my dwarf cleric got a local church drunk and then stole the priest uniform. I started a new religion called the church of the foz with myself as father Joey Tribiani. In one night i got over 250 converts including the bbeg general however we ended up blowing up the city with everyone in it... in the same night
What is your strength as a player? I would say that my best strength is being laid back and being able to get on with most people and I love to interact with different characters
What is your weakness as a player? I can be pretty indecisive when it comes to planning strategies XD
Would you be open to either 2014 or 2024 rules, or would either work? Either rules I like both or what ever the party wants
Do you have a class (no artificers) you're considering playing? A monk/druid with a special background i would need to run by you first 😅
This honestly sounds like an amazing campaign if it helps my discord is Chappy7629
Your game sounds incredibly interesting, and really appreciate the thoroughness of the details you are looking for. I would love the opportunity to join if you will have me. Below are the answers to your questionnaire:
Name: Discord: Micolux; IRL: Ryan
Preferred pronouns: He/Him
Age: 32
Country: USA (MST; UTC -7 Winter UTC -6 Summer)
Which days and times listed can you commit to consistently attending? I believe this puts your timeframe at 0900 - 1300 for myself which is a perfect time for me. Mondays and Tuesdays would be ideal and no preference between them, though Friday's would be fine as well. I just might be a bit more tired towards the end of sessions because I work grave shift, and be starting session one hour after getting off work, haha.
What's your experience level with the game? I've played DnD for about 5 or 6 years, only one long term campaign of about 2 years, and countless couple-of-month campaigns/one shots. I've also DM'd about a 4 or 5 month homebrew campaign as well.
What makes a game or a table excellent for you? I've always had the most enjoyment at a table with character development; both my own and the rest of the party's. Those moments of realization when you know 20 sessions and 3 levels ago, that character would have never done something remotely like that are some of the best and most memorable times for me. Watching the other characters influence each other is always wonderful too, because that is where the character development and comradery really takes place; calling out a character for something reckless or standing up for another as they are getting bullied etc.
What ruins a game or a table for you? I've only had two or three negative experiences before, and the best way I could describe what the problems I had would be two different types of players; a bulldozer and a the hyper-antagonist. The bulldozer was someone that never would stop and ask questions, always make full group decisions without anyone else's input (much to the rest of the group's annoyance), and just overall try to "speed run" the game it felt like. The hyper-antagonist would be the player's character being very passive-aggressively hostile towards the rest of the group, and never once attempting to positively interact with anyone. I'm not against that being where a character might start, but to never develop into a character that actually wants to be in the group or become friends with them in some way is just a real drag...
What is a favourite memory from a game you've played? The character I spent the most time as was a Kenku rogue, I remember early on as a sort of quirk of his I had him always asking inns and places to stay if it was okay that he sleep on the roof because it was funny to interact in that way. One night after drinking he was whistling away the night on top of the inn and someone threw a shoe at him to shut him up. I caught it, and asked which shoe was it, the left or right? From then on, he began to collect left shoes specifically everywhere they went. At the end of his time in the campaign, he had collected 6 of them, and as he parted ways with the group gave a shoe to everyone to remember him by. It was so heartwarming and awkward and weird, exactly the kind of character he always was. That was really fun for me, and just developed naturally out of a silly situation the DM threw at me and I'll probably remember that forever.
What is your strength as a player? To put it in a single word, I would say my cooperation is my greatest strength. I want to make sure that everyone at the table is enjoying themselves. Whether that be stepping back for them to have their moment, drawing out interaction with them if they haven't had a chance to participate, taking the lead if the group is too indecisive to pick and move forward, or just lightening the mood a little if situations are getting too intense.
What is your weakness as a player? My weakness in a single word would be density. I often times struggle to take social ques, and if I'm ever doing something at the table that is upsetting someone or causing friction you might need to directly tell me to stop it. I promise I won't be offended for being called out, and will do my best to change course. I don't anticipate it happening frequently, I just recall in prior games people trying to get me to do something differently either in character or out and just not getting it as they beat around the bush to avoid "metagaming" and making it more frustrating overall.
Would you be open to either 2014 or 2024 rules, or would either work? I would prefer to play in 2024 rules for something new, as I have only ever played in 2014 rules. Though if the majority of the table wants to play in 2014 I certainly wouldn't have an issue doing so either.
Do you have a class (no artificers) you're considering playing? I'm open to playing to fill our group rolls, though if I could have my preference I enjoy monks in the front line or sorcerers in the back, the ki/sorcerous point resource management is enjoyable to me.
Thanks for your time and consideration with my answers, and I hope to hear from you.

Hello!
Which days and times listed can you commit to consistently attending? Only Tusdays but avaliable all afternoon and night hours from 14:30 to 23:30 GM+1
What's your experience level with the game? I have played a couple of adventures, Lost Mines and Dragon Queen.
What makes a game or a table excellent for you? A balance among exploration, role playing and combat (don't like mechanic combats just to level up). I value a lot a good group atmosphere and generosity among team members. For instance, if there a rogues or Rangers or face characters, they should be allow to shine in their roles, when the moment crops up. That means explore without noisy team mates at his/her back, etc. (I have played a rogue and a ranger) The same for big guys, there are situations of duels that ask for them (I have played a Barbarian too)
Also enjoy the narrative, when a plot grows little by little, and characters discover the story.
I addition, I appreciate respect for the rules, that means no rules changes to accommodate situations, because it give you a false feeling. For me, the logic in the story is important, for instance, how is possible that some owl beard don't catch some adventures it chases if it moves 40ft and adventures 25/30/35ft.
I prefer magic and magic items be special, rather than a purchable item in a city marquet. Thats why I have not played a druid yet, transforming into an animal without any mistery, kills me a little. However, this is a personal taste, I have been in tables with magic markets and crazy druids and have enjoyed them very much, but rare magic and uncommon items makes the atmosphere more appealing to me.
To add one last point, I love atmosphere, in Rol playing and descriptions, weather conditions, dark spots where you only can hear...
What ruins a game or a table for you? Mainly, unrespect among people in the game. There will always be different opinions, and that fine and it is enjoyable, but respect is a must. (Let's every player decide freely what she/he wants to do. No bulling, etc) No sharing time among characters in the adventure
What is a favourite memory from a game you've played? The feeling of exploring a dungeons without knowing what you are gonna find..., or face. ¡It was very exciting!
Teamwork to solve situations, enjoy when some player thinks about characteristics of other players to plan an action or in a combat. I have lived some and it is really touching.
A good atmosphere, a description of a foggy forest..., vivid descriptions are awesome!!
What is your strength as a player? Plan, tactics, clue thinking Also, good with rules
What is your weakness as a player? Convincing other players of my ideas when a common decision is needed. Endless debates gets me a little tired. Can't remember NPC names and encounters, if those are too much or their plots are complicate. Do not do girls voices either.
Would you be open to either 2014 or 2024 rules, or would either work? Either would work. I am willing to do the effor for 2024 rules! I feel that in 2014, characters with magic are more fun to play, because you have more tools and can do more things. That why I was used to multiclass. 2024 have no idea, buy I believe rogues and monk are improved, and fighters too.
Do you have a class (no artificers) you're considering playing? Rogue, Monk, ranger or warlock but I can play anything.
* Just to comment, no intention of playing artificier. There is something with artificier that don't fit me, so I thought of changing artificier into a more nature character, play it without the metalic touch, more as a druid, no metalic familiar but a Fey familiar, etc
Which days and times listed can you commit to consistently attending? Mon or Tues evenings are good but not friday as I have a prior commitment.
What's your experience level with the game? 2 years of online play and a little in person play
What makes a game or a table excellent for you? Good roleplay with a decent dash of combat (60-40 or 70-30 split ish), friends, socialising, having fun in extraordinary scenarios
What ruins a game or a table for you? Not respecting something if i say ooc it bothers me. If you mess up no problem but listen and adjust when i say - “im not open to that” or “i have issue with that” also taking autonomy from a player
What is a favourite memory from a game you've played? Finding a loophole with a magic item to cast a small pseudo meteor swarm at level 1 lol (will say more if asked)
What is your strength as a player? Unsure tbh, rp and combat? Not so much voices lol
What is your weakness as a player? I can’t do voices (i also occasionally talk too much or overcorrect and go a bit quiet cos im trying not to talk over people)
Would you be open to either 2014 or 2024 rules, or would either work? Only 2014 for me sorry. 2024 just isn’t as good in my limited experience
Do you have a class (no artificers) you're considering playing? Fighter/rogue
phew! Alot to get through but detailed! You think late dec start ish assuming i get picked/all works out? Hopefully a few get to know each other sessions/oneshots earlier :) also will send my discord in pms if you want to interview/chat more/reach me easier :)
While I did say that I wouldn't be reaching out to anybody for a few days, between the above replies and the separate five DMed applications I've gotten, a few stood out strongly enough to me that I've started some conversations already. I can just only handle so many chats simultaneously within a few hours, so I had to prioritize. So far I've made positive decisions on two players. Ideally, I would like 5-6. If you've already applied, I will still get back to you, whether it's to talk more or to let you know I've decided to go a different direction. In the interim, I'm still open to applications, so please don't be discouraged by the amount already here :) I'm currently leaning towards Tuesday being our day but Monday and Friday aren't ruled out.
Thank you to everybody for your interest and for the thoughtfulness of your replies.
The last update I'll make to this thread as a new message:
I'm now in the late stages of recruitment. I've found a handful players I'm moving forward with to see if we're all a good match for each other. I would be open to one more if it's a great fit, so now's the last chance to apply should the game interest you.
When I'm done recruiting, I will add the CLOSED tag to the post.
I am super interested in joining this game. I would love it if you would give me a chance to apply. I Just found this but I’m in a tight spot right now but can apply later today.
so just in short. Im Alexander, a man, 39 years old, from Sweden and I could do Tuesdays (or Thursdays) but could also be flexible. I can come back later today to add more details.

Hello Alexander,
Today's the last day I'll leave applications open as long as I have 5-6 people I can move forward with, so feel free to post later when you can. Thanks for the heads up.
Which days and times listed can you commit to consistently attending? Tuesday evenings work for me!
What's your experience level with the game? I have 4 years of experience playing both in person and online.
What makes a game or a table excellent for you? When roleplay, story, and everything in between collides into a perfect harmony.
What ruins a game or a table for you? Disrespectful and selfish players who only make decisions based on what they want.
What is a favourite memory from a game you've played? It was a Curse of Strahd campaign. The evening came as our party got together to plan a makeshift birthday party for one of our members at a tavern we were staying at. She was out doing something at the time so we got started right away. We all had different chores we had to do, my character helping out with the food. When she came back, we all surprised her with a decked out tavern with gifts in hand, ready to give. Specifically the moment I remember the best is when my character just told them: "Thank you for being you," and this other character, I came to know later, really appreciated that since she had never heard anyone say that to them. Just a wholesome RP moment I think about.
What is your strength as a player? Roleplay and collaboration. I love to make detailed characters who develop and grow over time, but more so. I love sitting down with others to try and figure out things. relationships between members, planning, everything.
What is your weakness as a player? I'm kinda forgetful. If I'm not writing, I can easily forget small details. but usually it's not a big issue at all.
Would you be open to either 2014 or 2024 rules, or would either work? 2014 is the preference since 2024 is so new.
Do you have a class (no artificers) you're considering playing? I have a preference towards magic-casters, so probably sorcerer.
Final update: Pending Graget's incoming application since he has made me aware he will get to it later today, I'm going to close it off there for the time being, since that will be 17 total applications that I'm looking to narrow down to 5-6.
I didn't expect nearly this much interest whatsoever, so thanks again to everybody for such thorough responses.
Should something change and I need to reopen applications, I'll remove the CLOSED tag and bump this post again.
For context that differs from the above post which was made during pre-game recruitment: we play on Tuesdays at 7pm CET every week, with sessions normally lasting 4.5 hours. We honestly have a dream table, with a beautiful blend of seriousness and humour - we were already crying together by session 4. If somebody else would mesh just as well with us, it'd be a treat.

***EDIT 28 OCT: APPLICATIONS CLOSED; 8 out of 17 have been selected to move forward for further discussion.***
I am very confident I'll find the 5-6 players I'm looking for among those 8, but if something changes and I need to recruit again, I will remove the CLOSED tag and bump this post.

Thanks!
Music Man (Ciaran)
I could consistently attend all 3 days, with a little less flexibility on the Monday.
I have been playing for the guts of 4 years now!
(I adore one piece and the straw hat crew as well as team avatar from atla, so I suppose I like parties that reflect that sort of found family bond or at least have reasons to not get along that are interesting)
Weird players. I need boundaries in games and players that actually respect each others time and fun. If you want to play a rogue who doesn't yet trust the party, that is fine, but it's a collaborative story telling game
Puzzles and complex plots. I need to be handheld just a little to understand certain things. I don't really do to well with vast lore drops and take a while to understand it. I think fantasy naming conventions just never stick in my brain. I am paying attention, it just hasn't clicked for me yet, I SWEAR.
If possible I think a mix would be cool. Personally I am more comfortable with the 2014 rules but the changes made to Monk were absolutely stellar.
My discord is: musicmanlovessam (pls contact me there instead of replying here, I am far more active on discord)
Not pretentious at all! Your investing time to run a game for people FOR FREE, curating players for said game is just natural lol
Hi, I send you a private message with the information. just wanted to say that I agree with Moxiels. It's good that you are clear about what you want.
Tuesday and Friday in the evenings
Being able to interact with a wide variety of different players with characters with their own stories and struggles. And as a party can help each other over ones difficulties and form life long friendships with fantastic memories
Hello,
Your game sounds incredibly interesting, and really appreciate the thoroughness of the details you are looking for. I would love the opportunity to join if you will have me. Below are the answers to your questionnaire:
Thanks for your time and consideration with my answers, and I hope to hear from you.
Name: Joaquín
Preferred pronouns: he
Age: 49
Country: Spain
Plan, tactics, clue thinking
Also, good with rules
My discord is jm5387
by the way, love your post
phew! Alot to get through but detailed! You think late dec start ish assuming i get picked/all works out? Hopefully a few get to know each other sessions/oneshots earlier :) also will send my discord in pms if you want to interview/chat more/reach me easier :)
Update:
Thanks all!
Hi Ajorra,
I am super interested in joining this game.
Have a good day!
Final update: Pending Graget's incoming application since he has made me aware he will get to it later today, I'm going to close it off there for the time being, since that will be 17 total applications that I'm looking to narrow down to 5-6.

Thanks for letting me send in an application. You should have a DM waiting. 🙏
For context that differs from the above post which was made during pre-game recruitment: we play on Tuesdays at 7pm CET every week, with sessions normally lasting 4.5 hours.
